4th International Silk Road Business Summit Held

Speaking at the 4th International Silk Road Business Summit held in Trabzon with the participation of Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle said, "The New Silk Road, based on the win-win principle, should open the way for inclusive development and trade for all Eurasian countries. A world in which regional and global opportunities serve the interests of only a few countries cannot achieve a sustainable future. Indeed, with an understanding that embraces Eurasia, mega projects have been mobilized by our country to strengthen the capacity of regional states in energy, services and merchandise trade. The projects that our country has completed one by one, particularly in recent times, and which are followed worldwide, not only reinforce our position as a junction point of global trade but also indicate that we will become an indispensable hub in transit trade. Referring also to the future of Turkey's geostrategic position, Gülle said: "The Middle Corridor, which includes Turkey, emerges as the most strategic area in terms of revitalizing the historic Silk Road. The size of investment in this corridor is calculated at 8 trillion dollars, of which 40 billion dollars will be spent solely on transportation infrastructure."

We Will Continue to Achieve Great Successes on These Lands

Gülle said: "We always emphasize this. Our target is: 'Turkey with a Foreign Trade Surplus'. We are the children of lands that place cooperation, not conflict, and solidarity, not selfishness, at the center. With tolerance, cooperation and the mutual win-win principle, we must continue to develop our bilateral relations with our neighboring countries in the region and throughout Eurasia, and move shoulder to shoulder towards our common goals. We have achieved many successes in history on these lands through united effort, united hearts and united ideals. Let no one doubt it—we will achieve great successes again."
