International Zinc Conference Postponed

International Zinc Association (IZA) and the General Galvanizers Association (GALDER), representing Turkey's hot-dip galvanizing sector, have postponed the 4th International Zinc Conference (Europe) to September due to concerns about the increasing spread of the Covid-19 pandemic across Europe, the Middle East and other parts of the world. Supported by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Conference will take place on 7–9 September 2020 at The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul Hotel. Speaking on the matter, GALDER General Secretary S. Burcu Akman said: "Although the pandemic has not been seen in Turkey, given the increasing number of Covid-19 cases globally and international participation, we decided to postpone the Conference. Health comes first. All preparations for the Conference are complete. On 7–9 September in Istanbul, we will organize a conference packed with presentations, content, facility tours and events." 4th International Zinc Conference The Zinc Conference shares current information on global and regional zinc metal market trends, focuses on sub-sectors ranging from general galvanizing, continuous galvanizing, casting and brass industries, and addresses sustainability standards. The conference, lasting one and a half days, concludes with a tour of galvanizing facilities. Leading industry stakeholders, technical experts and senior analysts are among the speakers. Since it is an international event, all presentations will be held in English, with simultaneous Turkish interpretation services available.

Special discounted registration opportunities for participants from Turkey and Association members

With a delegate registration fee of EUR 1,950, the early registration discount has been extended to 30 June 2020 following the change in event date. Due to the organization taking place in Turkey, the local registration fee established for Turkish and foreign employees of companies in Turkey (those holding work or residence permits in Turkey) is EUR 350. The discounted registration fee established for GALDER members, who are the host and organizing partner, is EUR 250; and the discounted registration fee established for members of the Istanbul Copper and Brass Industrialists Association, YISAD (Flat Steel, Export and Industrialists Association), TUCSA (Turkish Structural Steel Association) and TÜDÖKSAD (Turkish Casting Industrialists Association), which are among the Conference's supporting organizations, is EUR 300.
