TÜSİAD - Sabancı University Competition Forum Collaboration TÜSİAD and Sabancı University Competition Forum (REF) have released the report "A Review of Turkey's Manufacturing Sector Today and Recommendations" to the public. The report aims to examine the development of Turkey's manufacturing sector in light of global developments, identify the main constraints facing the sector, and present key industrial policy recommendations for the future. Opening remarks were delivered by TÜSİAD Board Chairman Orhan Turan and TÜSİAD Board Member and Chair of the Industrial Policies and Investment Environment Roundtable Dr. Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu. In his remarks, Orhan Turan stated: "Taking the necessary steps decisively to adapt to these rapidly changing global dynamics, which will have a direct impact on competitiveness, is critical to positioning our country. From this perspective, we need to take coordinated measures to strengthen the capacities of our enterprises for the transformation of our industry, one of the most important drivers of our economy, toward generating high value-added. To capture the dynamics of our era in the republic's second century, we need to place our industry on solid foundations in the components of technology, human resources and institutions, as we emphasized two years ago in our Building the Future report." In his remarks, Dr. Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu stated: "As TÜSİAD, we act with the mission of carrying our industry strongly into the future in all our work. With this understanding, in our work within the Competition Forum that we have established with Sabancı University, we analyze factors affecting our country's competitiveness. With our study titled 'A Review of Turkey's Manufacturing Sector Today and Recommendations,' we aimed to present the development of the manufacturing sector in our country, address the factors affecting our sector's productivity, and share our policy recommendations for our industry's future in line with global changes."

Following the opening, REF Advisor and report author Dr. İzak Atiyas presented the report. The program concluded with a panel titled "The Present and Future of the Manufacturing Sector from the Perspective of Manufacturing Subsectors," moderated by REF Director Dr. Esra Durceylan Kaygusuz. The panelists included Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) Board Chairman Cengiz Eroldu, Turkey White Goods Manufacturers Association (TÜRKBESD) Board Chairman Gökhan Sığın, and Turkey Food and Beverage Industries Federation (TGDF) Board Chairman Demir Şarman.
