Turkey's Antibacterial Soap Exports Rise

As the Coronavirus threat continues to spread rapidly worldwide, antibacterial soap manufacturers in Turkey have increased their exports. Firms seeking to meet rising demand have shifted to shift-based working systems, while authorities warn citizens about the importance of handwashing.

As the Coronavirus threat spreading from China's Wuhan city to the world persists, experts emphasize attention to personal hygiene for protection against the virus. Many antibacterial soap manufacturers in Turkey have also increased their production capacity, particularly for export markets. Experts have noted that antibacterial soaps are among the primary means of protection against viruses.

Tolga Turan, Chemical Engineer and manager of an antibacterial soap factory in Beylikdüzü, stated that their soap is effective against bacteria and viruses, saying "We have doubled our capacity. The Corona virus has had a major impact. We export to 10 countries in particular. We are currently unable to keep up with demand."

"Attention must be paid to Health Ministry licensing"

Turan, noting that counterfeit products are being produced in response to the Coronavirus threat, said "Consumers should not trust unregistered manufacturers. Consumers should particularly pay attention to whether the products they purchase have licenses from the Health Ministry. Opportunists have increased significantly. They should be careful with licensed and hygienic firms they know. We recommend that consumers read the labels when purchasing products."
