Turkey's $58 Billion Technology Market Steps onto Global Stage with Artificial Intelligence

GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026 will bring together the global technology ecosystem in Istanbul on 9-10 September. The event, which will take place at a time when Turkey is setting new billion-dollar targets in artificial intelligence and data centre investments, will open the door to new business and investment connections for Eurasia's emerging artificial intelligence economy.

While Turkey's information and communications technology (ICT) market continues to grow, artificial intelligence and data centre investments are among the key drivers of the country's digital economy transformation. The expectation that Turkey's ICT market, which is projected to reach USD 38 billion in 2026, will reach USD 58 billion by 2031, demonstrates the country's potential to become one of Eurasia's emerging technology hubs.

Turkey is accelerating investments in data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure in line with its digital transformation objectives. While USD 3 billion in investment is allocated to this sector in 2026, the aim is to mobilise USD 10 billion from the private sector to support artificial intelligence innovations and achieve 1 gigawatt of data centre capacity by 2030.

The growth of the artificial intelligence ecosystem is also supported by human resources investments. Under Turkey's Artificial Intelligence Action Plan announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in June 2026, the training of 10,000 advanced-level artificial intelligence specialists and 100,000 artificial intelligence application professionals is planned.

Turkey's entrepreneurship ecosystem is also an important component of this transformation. Turkey's startup ecosystem, which received USD 559 million in investment in the first quarter of 2026, recorded growth more than seven times that of the same period in the previous year. While Turkey's 114 technology parks host more than 13,000 startups, over 1,700 research and development and design centres are operating.

GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026, which will be held for the first time, will take place on 9-10 September 2026 at Istanbul Fair Centre. The event will bring together more than 300 companies and startups, as well as investors, public decision-makers, technology experts and technology executives from different regions of the world.

The organisation will focus on leading areas of the technology economy such as artificial intelligence, 5G and telecommunications, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, data centres, fintech, e-commerce, gaming, green technologies, health technologies, mobility, quantum computing and smart manufacturing.

The event is aimed at increasing cross-border cooperation, investment connections, technology transfer and talent sharing between Turkey and Eurasia.

GITEX Ai Türkiye is being organised under the host of the Presidency of the Republic Investment and Finance Office (Invest in Türkiye) and the strategic partnership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The organisation is being carried out by inD, a joint venture between Dubai World Trade Centre and Informa, which organises GITEX events on a global scale.

Presidency Investment and Finance Office Director A. Burak Dağlıoğlu stated that Turkey has strong potential in terms of technology investments and said that GITEX Ai Türkiye will contribute to connecting this potential with international investors.

Dağlıoğlu noted that Turkey's commitment of USD 3 billion in investment in data centre and artificial intelligence infrastructure, as well as mobilising USD 10 billion from the private sector, demonstrates investors' interest in Turkey.

GITEX CEO Trixie LohMirmand pointed out that Turkey creates a strategic bridge between East and West, and said that GITEX Ai Türkiye will contribute to strengthening Turkey and Eurasia's role in the global artificial intelligence economy.

Technology companies from five continents coming to Istanbul
Companies and institutions from different regions of the world are expected to participate in GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026. Colombia and Peru from South America, Nigeria and Tunisia from Africa, United Arab Emirates and Jordan from the Middle East, Poland and Portugal from Europe, and Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan and Singapore from Asia will be represented at the event.

Confirmed participants of the event include global technology companies such as Google Cloud, HPE & NVIDIA, ASUS, Dell Technologies, SAP and TrendAI, as well as Trendyol, one of Turkey's leading e-commerce platforms, and Andevos, which operates in artificial intelligence and fintech.

Artificial intelligence focus from Google Cloud, HPE and NVIDIA
The structure of GITEX Ai Türkiye, which brings together global technology companies, will also support the development of artificial intelligence investments in Turkey.

Google Cloud is present at the event as Cloud Headline Partner. The company's investment plan, announced in 2025 with Turkcell as part of plans to establish a new Google Cloud region in Turkey, worth USD 2 billion over 10 years, is among the important investments supporting Turkey's transformation in cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Google Cloud Turkey Country Manager Alp Önder Güler stated that participation in GITEX Ai Türkiye is an indicator of the company's long-term technology investments in Turkey, and said they are focused on providing advanced cloud and artificial intelligence technologies to institutions in Turkey.

Enterprise infrastructure company HPE and NVIDIA, which operates in the field of artificial intelligence chips, are also participating in the event as Gold Sponsors. The two companies will showcase their solutions for moving artificial intelligence applications to production environments by bringing together enterprise infrastructure and accelerated computing technologies.

The event will also feature companies such as fixcloud, Odoo, Sangfor, Redington and Forcepoint with solutions in cloud technologies, enterprise resource planning, cybersecurity and network security.

HPE Turkey General Manager Yasemin Doğrul stated that HPE and NVIDIA will share their solutions for moving artificial intelligence from the exploration phase to production environments under GITEX Ai Türkiye.

Turkey's growing startup ecosystem will also be an important part of GITEX Ai Türkiye.

Under the event, more than 100 investors from 20 countries, with a total of USD 50 billion in assets under management, are planned to be brought together with Turkey's technology startups.

While the aim is to carry artificial intelligence and technology solutions developed in Turkey's technology parks to international markets, the goal is to establish new business connections between entrepreneurs, investors, corporate companies and other stakeholders in the technology ecosystem.
