First Coronavirus Case Detected in Turkey
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced in the early hours of the day in Ankara that a person suspected of coronavirus tested positive. Koca said the male patient's general condition was good, noting that the person had returned from Europe, and urged "do not travel abroad unless necessary."
Fahrettin Koca did not provide information about the patient's age and the city where he was located.
Koca said the diagnosis was made following investigation of the patient's high fever and cough symptoms, and noted that the person's family and close contacts were "under observation."
Koca stated, "In a world where people are moving from country to country, unfortunately it is not possible to prevent some consequences."
