Applications have opened for the "Turkey Sustainable Future Awards," which will be presented based on four key criteria highlighted by the World Economic Forum.
KalDer selects Turkey's most sustainable companies
The Turkish Quality Association (KalDer), which places Sustainable Development Goals at the center of its work, is launching the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards to expand and increase ongoing awareness efforts. Through the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards, which will enable the evaluation of organizations' commitment to and progress in sustainability for the future and recognition of their achievements, KalDer is preparing to present a strong model for enhancing organizations' competitiveness, productivity and effectiveness. KalDer Board Chairman Yılmaz Bayraktar noted that the most important characteristic of the award program is that it is based on the World Economic Forum's criteria of Governance, Planet, People and Prosperity, and stated that the final application deadline is 31 March 2023. The established civil society organization KalDer, which aims to increase Turkey's competitiveness, is setting a precedent this year by identifying Turkey's sustainable companies. Following technical content and field evaluations conducted by a qualified assessment team, companies applying for the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards will receive a detailed feedback report containing the organization's strengths and improvement opportunities regarding its sustainability approaches, business models and results achieved. This report will provide companies with learning and improvement opportunities regarding the results and achievements they wish to attain and their management approaches. Companies demonstrating the most successful improvements will be eligible to receive the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards, the first global-scale award based on stakeholder capitalism criteria.Turkey's most sustainable companies identified through this competition
Yılmaz Bayraktar, Board Chairman of the Turkish Quality Association, providing information about the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards, stated: "The changes experienced globally have transformed sustainability from an option into an absolute necessity. At this point, as KalDer, we have established working teams composed of experts within the scope of the Sustainable Development Goals that we have placed at the center of our work, with the aim of spreading the sustainability ecosystem to every layer of the business world. We then implemented the award program, known as the 'Turkey Sustainable Future Awards' model, which is a first in our country. We believe that this award program, whose evaluation criteria have a strong and globally recognized perspective, will help organizations review their objectives, establish a continuous improvement culture, advance with a values-oriented perspective and, most importantly, increase their awareness of sustainability," he said. Awards will be presented according to governance, planet, people and prosperity criteria Highlighting that the application subjects and evaluation criteria for KalDer's Turkey Sustainable Future Awards were prepared according to the Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics presented to the business world by the World Economic Forum in 2020, Bayraktar continued as follows: "The main headings of Stakeholder Capitalism consist of various criteria in the areas of 'Governance, Planet, People, Prosperity.' Organizations applying for the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards will be eligible to receive the Turkey Sustainable Future Awards as first, second and third place based on scores obtained in an evaluation encompassing all of the World Economic Forum Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics. Additionally, organizations that have at least one best practice example under each classification category will also be able to receive a 'Best Practice Award' in the relevant category. A KalDer Sustainable Future Jury Incentive Award will also be given as an incentive award in four categories. In addition to all these, sessions will be held for the presentation of projects during the ceremony. The final application deadline for our award program has been set as 31 March 2023. Following evaluations to be conducted by an independent jury, awards will be presented in November 2023. I wish success to all institutions that will participate from now on."Advertisement
