Turkish Chemical Manufacturers Association Holds 20th Ordinary General Assembly

The Turkish Chemical Manufacturers Association (TKSD) held its 20th Regular General Assembly Meeting on 11 February 2026, where it evaluated activities from the previous period and shared its strategic objectives for 2026-2028 with the public. Coinciding with the association's 40th founding anniversary, the meeting highlighted the Turkish chemical sector's global transformation process, green and digital transformation, sustainability policies and international competitiveness.

Activity and Financial Reports Approved Unanimously
The activity report for the 2023-2025 period included corporate identity initiatives, digitalization of member relations, expansion of Responsible Care℠ practices, training and consulting activities, and developments in stakeholder relations. Following the financial statements and audit reports, the association's financial structure was noted as strengthened, and the 19th Term Management and Audit Boards were discharged unanimously.

Bylaw Amendment and Advisory Board Decision
The General Assembly approved a bylaw amendment aimed at establishing an Advisory Board to strengthen institutional memory and knowledge transfer. The board, comprising former presidents, previous-term management board members, academics and sector experts, is intended to provide strategic guidance to management. Additionally, membership dues were updated to ensure the sustainability of growing activities and scholarship programs.

2026-2028 Strategic Priorities

Within the scope of the new period's work program;

-Increasing membership numbers,

-Expanding physical and digital activities,

-Contributing actively to legislative processes,

-Deepening sustainability and Responsible Care practices,

-Developing "integrated chemicals management" principles

were identified as priority objectives.

International Representation Strengthened
The meeting also announced that Turkey will host the Cefic AFEM Country Presidents Meeting in May 2026. The event, to be held with the participation of sector representatives from 27 countries and European Commission officials, is expected to serve as an important platform for discussing European chemical policies and sectoral competitiveness strategies. It was emphasized that this event will increase the visibility of the Turkish chemical sector internationally and strengthen Turkey's position as a regional hub.

New Management and Audit Boards Elected
The single list presented for the Management and Audit Boards was approved unanimously by open ballot at the General Assembly. It was announced that the task distribution of the new management will be determined at the first meeting to be held in March.

TKSD Celebrated Its 40th Anniversary and Introduced Its New Corporate Identity
Following the General Assembly, TKSD held a well-attended celebration program at Marriott Asia Ataşehir to mark its 40th founding anniversary. The program addressed the association's 40-year development process and future vision.

TKSD Honorary Chairman Timur Erk presented a speech titled "40 Years of TKSD," discussing the association's founding process and contributions to the sector, while 19th Term Management Board Chairman Haluk Erceber provided assessments of the sector's current situation and competitive strength.

The event also featured a video message from Marco Mensink, Director General of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic). Mensink noted that the European chemical sector is undergoing transformation due to energy costs and global competition, and emphasized the importance of cooperation with Turkey.

The program also included assessments of global economic and geopolitical developments by Prof. Dr. Necip Çakır and journalist Vahap Munyar.

As part of the event, TKSD's renewed corporate identity and logo were introduced. It was stated that the new visual identity is part of a strategic transformation reflecting the objectives of sustainability, digitalization and internationalization.

The celebration program concluded with the presentation of plaques to members celebrating their 25th anniversary and a networking reception.
