“We Contributed USD 1 Billion in Production to Turkey's Economy”

McDonald's Türkiye, which has forged strong cultural ties through the service it has provided since starting operations in Türkiye in 1986 and has contributed to the country's economy through the economic value it has created, continued to grow in 2025 as well. The company, which raised its production contribution to the Turkish economy to USD 1 billion through its approach based on the local supply ecosystem, stood out with its digitalization investments as well as its practices supporting equal opportunity in employment.

In 2025, the company continued its growth trajectory. With its local supply ecosystem approach, the company increased its production contribution to Turkey's economy to USD 1 billion, while standing out through digitalization investments and employment practices that support equal opportunity.
McDonald's Turkey achieved its 2025 production contribution target of USD 1 billion to Turkey's economy through a 98% local input approach. "Our growth continued across the country in 2025," said McDonald's Turkey CEO Mwaffak Kanjee, "With 306 restaurants and over 10,000 employees, we are rapidly expanding our service network. This year we will continue to create value for our country while delighting our customers through the opening of 38 new restaurants and creating 2,000 new jobs."
"We aim to reach 500 restaurants within five years"
McDonald's Turkey brought 36 new restaurants online in 2025, meeting taste enthusiasts in Istanbul and Izmir as well as Antalya, Ankara, Eskişehir and Bursa. Along the tourism corridor, the company opened restaurants in Fethiye, Gocek, Kusadasi, Selcuk, Bodrum and Altinoluk.
"We continued our growth across the country in 2025," said McDonald's Turkey CEO Mwaffak Kanjee, "With 306 restaurants and over 10,000 employees, we continue to expand our service network, and we are proud to contribute to this land where we are strongly rooted with our 98% local rate. In 2026, we will continue to delight our customers and create value for our country through the opening of 38 new restaurants." Kanjee added that they aim to reach 500 restaurants within five years.

"We reached 10,000 employees through inclusive employment"
Noting that McDonald's Turkey has a strong and inclusive employment policy, Mwaffak Kanjee stated: "As part of our growth plans, last year we increased our workforce to 10,000 with 2,000 new hires. This year we will continue our growth by hiring an additional 2,000 people."
Addressing the female employment rate, Kanjee said: "Women now account for 50.5% of our total workforce. Our female employees play an important role in the brand's field workforce structure, taking active roles in all positions from team membership to management in restaurants. Through collaborations with ISKUR and local municipalities, we will continue to support female employment and create more employment opportunities for women through flexible work arrangements."
"Management teams from the USA to South Korea came to see our success"
In 2025, McDonald's Turkey also focused on digital investments that elevated the in-restaurant experience, deploying 594 ordering kiosks nationwide under its "Future of Restaurant Experience" initiative. "The standard we have set is being closely monitored on a global scale," said Kanjee, noting that management teams from Dubai, South Korea, Latin America and Southern Africa, including the US Global Steering Committee, visited Turkey throughout the year to witness this transformation in the field.
Communications efforts brought international awards
McDonald's Turkey made headlines throughout the year with high-visibility campaigns. The brand reached wide audiences through initiatives such as Minecraft, Friends, Sekizinci Aile, Grimace and McHesaplı Menus, earning significant recognition in communications and marketing.
In 2025, McDonald's Turkey returned from Kristal Elma with a silver award; the brand won major communications awards at prestigious competitions such as IPRA Golden World Awards and Altın Pusula Public Relations Awards. At the Effie and Mixx Awards, which recognize effective advertising and campaigns, the brand earned two gold awards each, and was also listed on Great Place to Work's "Best Employers for Young Generations" list. Additionally, international awards such as 2024 EMEA Development and 2025 T3 Market Zero served as marks of the brand's successful initiatives.
