Applications Open for Turkey R&D 500 Survey

The Turkey R&D 500 Survey, which presents Turkey's R&D investments and innovation ecosystem on a data-driven basis, is being conducted for the 13th time this year. The study aims to make visible companies' technology production capacity through comprehensive results that serve as a reference for the business world and decision makers.

Applications for the survey began on 10 February 2026 and will continue until 8 June 2026.

R&D expenditures, projects conducted, human resources, innovation processes and intellectual property performance of companies operating in Turkey will be analyzed in multiple dimensions. The data obtained will provide an important snapshot of Turkey's global competitive strength.

R&D: The Key to Global Competition
R&D investments, one of the fundamental dynamics of sustainable economic growth, play a critical role in countries' technological independence. R&D activities are becoming increasingly important for commercializing innovative ideas, strengthening domestic production and gaining advantages in international markets.

The Turkey R&D 500 Survey supports this transformation by measuring company performance and presenting national innovation capacity with concrete data.

13 Years of Comprehensive Data Accumulation
The survey, conducted continuously for 13 years by the Economics and Business World Portal Turkishtime, provides comprehensive analyses on numerous topics including:

-Patent, trademark, design and utility model registrations

The findings are closely followed not only in Turkey but also in international circles.

Intellectual Property Section in Collaboration with PEM
One of the noteworthy sections of the survey, intellectual property analysis, is being prepared this year in collaboration with the Patent and Trademark Attorneys Association (PEM).

Within this scope, companies' the following will be evaluated in detail:

-Role of intellectual property in R&D processes

-National and international application trends

Focus on Design Centers Strengthened
Design centers, which were included in the scope last year, will be examined more in-depth this year. Thus, product development capabilities, design expenditures, employment structures and commercialization capacity will become more visible. The holistic link between R&D and design will be supported with data.

R&D's Contribution to Exports Will Be Measured for the First Time
One of the most important innovations this year will be measuring the economic output of R&D activities. The performance of products developed as a result of R&D activities by companies in foreign markets during the 2023-2025 period will be included in the survey.
