TÜRKÇİMENTO President Konukoğlu Appointed to Another Post

Adil Sani Konukoğlu has been elected as the new Chair of the Building Products Manufacturers Federation (YÜF), which brings together producers in the aggregate, additive, lime, cement, ready-mix concrete and prefabricated products sectors under one umbrella.

Konukoğlu was elected to the position of YÜF Chair following the recent tragic death of late Fatih Yücelik, Chair of TÜRKÇIMENTO and YÜF, in a traffic accident.

In a statement on the matter, Konukoğlu said, "I wish to express my condolences once again for the unexpected passing of my dear brother and friend Fatih Yücelik. He successfully managed the positions of Chair at both TÜRKÇIMENTO and YÜF for many years."

Noting that the 6 member associations under the YÜF umbrella provide employment opportunities to over 95,000 people working for approximately 230 companies, Konukoğlu emphasized that, as at TÜRKÇIMENTO, they will continue to work under the YÜF umbrella to contribute to the country's economy.

The Building Products Manufacturers Federation (YÜF) was established on 22 February 2005 by the Aggregate Producers Association (AGÜB), Lime Industrialists Association (KİSAD), Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TÜRKÇIMENTO), Turkish Ready-Mix Concrete Association (THBB) and Turkish Prefabricated Products Association (TPB) with the objective of increasing the competitive strength of the building products sector and making it more effective in the international economic system. The Concrete and Mortar Chemical Additives Manufacturers Association (KÜB) also became a federation member on 3 November 2006. Additionally, the sector's total turnover stands at USD 10,925,000,000 and domestic raw materials account for 80% of production in the sector.
