Özgür Demircan, Associate Professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University, has developed one of the world's most durable materials by combining nano and composite materials. Drawing on experience gained in Japan and Turkey, Associate Professor Özgür Demircan has produced a material that is 50 percent more durable than metal and five times lighter. His "Thermoplastic Composite Material Project" won first prize at the International R&D Project Market Summit. The material, which can be used in automotive, aviation, aerospace and many other sectors, is lighter and more durable compared to other metal materials. Suitable for use in hoods and various components in vehicles such as automobiles, trains and aircraft, the material's light weight enables vehicles to achieve fuel savings.
