Turkish Cosmetics Sector Sends Trade Delegation to Lisbon

The İstanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (İKMİB) organized the "ECRM Lisbon Cosmetics Sector Trade Delegation" in Lisbon, Portugal, for the cosmetics sector. Within the scope of the delegation, a total of 493 bilateral business meetings were held with the participation of 91 Turkish and foreign companies.
İKMİB organized the "ECRM Lisbon Cosmetics Sectoral Trade Mission" in Lisbon, Portugal, targeting the cosmetics sector. The mission brought together 91 Turkish and foreign companies, resulting in a total of 493 bilateral business meetings.
İKMİB successfully completed the ECRM Lisbon Cosmetics Sectoral Trade Mission held in Lisbon, Portugal between 2-6 February 2025, targeting the cosmetics, perfumery and beauty sector. Thirteen Turkish companies from the cosmetics products sector participated in the Sectoral Trade Mission to Portugal, which aimed to expand business opportunities and establish new commercial connections in the cosmetics sector.
The delegation, accompanied by İKMİB Board Member Uğur Adıyaman and TİM Delegate Özgür Öztürk, was visited by Turkish Trade Counselor in Lisbon Güliz Çetinkaya and Turkish Ministry of Commerce Expert Yavuz Selim Özden, who provided companies with information about the market.
493 bilateral business meetings conducted
Important contacts were made during the trade mission in Lisbon to establish new business partnerships and increase exports. During the event, Turkish companies presented various cosmetics products including skincare products, personal care products and perfumery to buyer appreciation.
Over the four-day organization, meetings were held with purchasing managers from approximately 78 foreign chain stores from both Portugal and other European countries. A total of 493 bilateral business meetings were conducted at the event, which aimed to contribute not only to exports to Portugal but also to the increase of regional exports.
USD 1.5 million cosmetics exports to Portugal achieved
Turkey's total exports in the cosmetics and cleaning products category to the world between 2019-2024 show a continuous upward trend. The sector accounted for 1.13% of Turkey's total global exports with an export value of USD 2.6 billion in 2024.
Turkey's exports in the cosmetics and cleaning products category to Portugal have been on an upward trajectory over the past three years, representing 0.62% of total country exports to Portugal in 2024. Exports of cosmetics and cleaning products to Portugal in 2024 reached USD 1.5 million with a 6.5% increase.
