İКМІБ Board Chairman Adil Pelister, providing information about the Vietnam Sectoral Trade Mission, said: "As the Istanbul Association of Exporters of Chemicals and Chemical Products (İКМІБ), we implement many projects and provide support in line with the development of our sector and the needs of our country to increase the exports of our Turkish companies operating in the chemistry sector, diversify exported products and add competitive strength to our products. We view Vietnam as an important country with high potential for our sector and especially for the kitchenware sector, and it is included among the target countries within the framework of our Trade Ministry's strategy for distant countries. Within this scope, as İКМІБ, we conducted our Vietnam Sectoral Trade Mission for the home and kitchenware sector between 5-9 November 2023 with the participation of representatives from 12 Turkish companies. Our Turkish manufacturers and entrepreneurs are increasingly investing to meet demand for glass home goods, ceramics, porcelain and cutlery sets as well as plastic, steel, copper and aluminum home goods. The vision of our home and kitchenware sector is to become one of the world's leading home goods suppliers by promoting development through competitive practices. In line with this vision, our home and kitchenware companies focus on high competitiveness as well as differentiation in product design and branding, use of advanced technology and quality production. With this perspective, our home goods export potential is growing rapidly and today our products are sold in more than 160 countries," he said.Pelister: "We introduced our quality and affordable Turkish products more closely to Vietnamese business people"
Stating that Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest growth rates in the world, Pelister said: "According to Trademap data, we see that Vietnam achieved total exports of 370 billion dollars in 2022 and imports of 359 million dollars, with kitchenware imports valued at 1.1 billion dollars. Our country's exports of home and kitchenware to Vietnam were 1.9 million dollars in 2019, 1.5 million dollars in 2020, 1.2 million dollars in 2021, and 1.3 million dollars in 2022. We forecast that our sector's exports of home and kitchenware to Vietnam this year will be 1.5 million dollars. With the Vietnam Sectoral Trade Mission we organized, we found the opportunity to introduce our quality and affordable products to Vietnamese business people. Through the bilateral meetings held, we aim to sign new business partnerships. We believe that our trade mission plays an important role in being able to become one of Vietnam's significant suppliers for these products. I hope our sectoral trade mission will be productive for all our companies and will contribute to new business partnerships," he said. İКМІБ Board Member Ali Küçük stated that Vietnam is one of the target countries in the home and kitchenware sector, saying: "Within the scope of the Vietnam Sectoral Trade Mission we organized between 5-9 November 2023, we enabled our exporters to become familiar with the Vietnamese market closely. Within the scope of the mission we organized in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's commercial center, we held bilateral business meetings with potential buyers. We also appeared in the Vietnamese media that showed interest in our mission. Our companies were quite satisfied. A day before the bilateral business meetings, we conducted a retail tour. We visited retailers, supermarkets and wholesalers selling home and kitchenware products, enabling our companies to see the market up close. I believe our mission provided a great opportunity for Vietnamese business people to learn about Turkish brands and products," he said.Advertisement
