Turkish-Japanese Partnership Drives Innovation Award
TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri, which manufactures products for the packaging and printing sectors, has established itself among Turkey's innovation leaders through its approach of making innovation a part of company culture. At the İnovaLİG Awards Ceremony held during Turkey Exporters Assembly's Innovation Week, it received the runner-up award in the "Innovation Organization and Culture" category. Through İnovaLİG, launched by Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM), Turkey's most innovative companies were recognized across five different categories. At the ceremony held at Istanbul Convention Centre, TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri stood out among 761 companies in Turkey's first innovation development program İnovaLİG's "Innovation Organization and Culture" category and won the runner-up award. TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri CEO Yakup Benli received the award from Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi, Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli and TİM Chairman Mehmet Büyükekşi. TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri, majority-owned by Japan-based TOYOINKGROUP—one of the world's three largest printing ink manufacturers—produces across six different categories for the packaging and printing sectors at its facility in Manisa. In 2014, TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri became the first and only company in its sector to implement the EFQM Excellence Model. The company holds the 2016 Aegean Region Excellence Grand Award and the 2016 EFQM 5-Star Competency Certificate. TOYO INK, which conducts work to promote and sustain excellence and innovation culture across all levels of the company, was energized by its rapid rise in İnovaLİG and the resulting award. With four separate R&D departments, TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri works to provide the fastest solutions to its customers' and industry's evolving needs. The company invests above Turkey's average in R&D, spending 2.5% of its turnover on research and development. TOYO Matbaa Mürekkepleri has intensified its R&D work in product groups for the packaging sector, where demand is rising rapidly.
