Turkish Education Foundation Sets an Example

  For 53 years, Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), which has provided scholarship support to students with limited financial means, has taken action to grant scholarships to the children of healthcare workers who served during the coronavirus (Covid-19 pandemic that the entire world and our country are fighting, and who lost their lives due to the virus.  

TEV General Director Yıldız Günay made the following statement on the matter: "These days, many institutions and organizations are actively fighting to stop the coronavirus pandemic and protect public health.

We are able to spend these challenging days safely in our homes thanks to workers who continue our health and lives without interruption. We believe that we will leave the pandemic period behind by supporting each other and keeping our morale high. However, as life returns to normal after the pandemic, we foresee that needs will continue in the long term. With this awareness, we quickly took action to ensure that the education of the children of all healthcare workers, our heroes, who stood in the front lines of this struggle by leaving their loved ones behind and unfortunately lost their lives due to the virus, would not be interrupted, and we launched the 'TEV Corona Heroes Loyalty Fund' with the slogan 'Support to Corona Heroes, Future for Their Children.' In accordance with our mission, we embarked on the goal of supporting children entrusted to us throughout their educational lives by studying in detail how they will be supported in their future educational journeys," he said.

"As Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), we continue to closely monitor news of the coronavirus spread in the world and our country.

  The health and safety of our donors, scholarship recipients, and employees are our highest priority. As the TEV Family, drawing its greatest strength from the goal of educated youth and an enlightened country, we continue our efforts to ensure that our students receive uninterrupted support during these extraordinary times. We work in close coordination with all internal and external stakeholders regarding developments and measures taken. In the fight against coronavirus, in addition to the preventive dimension, we aim to raise awareness on the moral motivation side. We call our donors via video together with our scholarship recipients and foundation management, reminding them that Turkish Education Foundation is a large family and that we are always by their side, and we try to meet all their needs. We also communicate with our scholarship recipients individually and through surveys, learn their needs and provide support. Additionally, we are strengthening our contacts with our graduate scholarship recipients during this period," he said.
