Turkish Education Foundation Commemorates Donor Engin Geçtan, Turkish Professor of Psychiatry, at His Graveside

Turkish psychiatry professor, academic and author Prof. Dr. Engin Geçtan was remembered with respect at his grave in Soğukkuyu Cemetery in Izmir Bayraklı on the seventh anniversary of his death by Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), to which he was a donor.

Turkish psychiatry professor Prof. Dr. Engin Geçtan, who left a deep mark in the academic world through his works in psychiatry, was commemorated by Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), to which he bequeathed his assets, on the seventh anniversary of his death. The memorial ceremony held at Soğukkuyu Cemetery in Izmir Bayraklı was attended by TEV officials, scholarship recipients, relatives and friends, where Geçtan's legacy left for education was recalled. Throughout his life, Geçtan touched the lives of countless students, and continues to be a light for students through scholarships bearing his name even after his death.

Turkish Education Foundation General Director Banu Taşkın expressed the value of the deceased's contribution to the Foundation and youth in the following words, "Prof. Dr. Engin Geçtan shed light on the human mind through his contributions to the academic world, scientific studies and literary works, while leaving a meaningful legacy to the future through his support for education. By bequeathing his assets to Turkish Education Foundation, he aimed to provide equal opportunity in education to young people on their learning journey. His valuable will continues to bring hope to many students today through the scholarship fund. We remember Prof. Dr. Engin Geçtan with respect, gratitude and reverence, and we see preserving his values as our greatest responsibility," he said.
