TİM Launches Award-Winning Innovation Competition

TİM's Award-Winning Innovation Competition Launched ISTANBUL (AA) - The İnovaTİM Innovation Competition, organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) for university students with the support of Türkiye'nin Makinecileri, will award a total of TRY 300,000 in prize money. According to a statement from TİM, applications have begun for the İnovaTİM Innovation Competition, one of the innovation-focused initiatives of the Turkish Exporters Assembly—an umbrella organization for 61 exporter unions, 27 sectors and 100,000 exporters—which is being held with the support of Türkiye'nin Makinecileri. The organization, which is among Turkey's most innovative competitions in terms of its algorithm, competition processes and educational approach, will conduct all procedures in the digital environment. The competition aims to encourage young people to develop projects that solve global problems by focusing on 11 different scenarios across three main categories: "Nature Protection", "Artificial Intelligence and Future Forecasting", and "Sustainability".

Innovation Matters for Exports

TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, whose views were included in the statement, called on young people to develop projects and made the following remarks: "Under the TİM umbrella, with the slogan 'Exports Rise with Innovation, Innovation Rises with Youth', we aim to reward our young people passionate about innovation through İnovaTİM, Turkey's largest innovation ecosystem, and to bring forth their new ideas. With the İnovaTİM Innovation Competition, we are also setting a precedent in Turkey. With a special algorithm, we bring together competitors with team members they can work with productively. Through the competition, we aim for our young people to produce innovative projects on important topics. A total of TRY 300,000 in prize money will be distributed. The competition, first held in 2020, received great interest. University students from 103 different universities and 86 different departments—3,218 students in total—applied and developed solution-oriented projects addressing problems caused by the pandemic. Those successful projects were awarded TRY 180,000 in prize money at Turkey Innovation Week."

Category Winners Receive TRY 40,000

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the "Nature Protection", "Artificial Intelligence and Future Forecasting", and "Sustainability" categories. In the competition, students await a total of TRY 300,000 in prize money, with the first-place team in each category receiving TRY 40,000, the second-place team TRY 35,000, and the third-place team TRY 25,000. The closing date for applications for the 2021 İnovaTİM Innovation Competition has been set as 30 November 2021.
