TİM Women's Council Launches New Initiative

A survey was sent to over 100,000 exporting companies under the TIM umbrella, asking about women serving in executive, board member, chairman and similar positions in their companies.

https://tim.org.tr/women-survey According to information received from the survey prepared on the web page with the slogan 'Strong Women, Strong Exports, Stronger Turkey', a database will be created regarding women working in the business world.

The aim of the study is to reach more women exporters, develop projects, identify needs and present solution proposals.

Calling for participation in the survey, TIM President İsmail Gülle said "We support our women entrepreneurs and businesswomen at every level of exports. Through this work of ours, we will reach more women exporters, develop projects, identify needs and present solution proposals. Women will be the architects of 'Turkey Rising Through Exports'. With the dedication and hard work of women, we will set new records. A stronger economy is possible with women playing a more active role in exports." Gülle said, "With the vision of 'Strong Women, Strong Exports, Stronger Turkey', we have accelerated our work for women exporters. We are increasing women entrepreneurs and businesswomen at every level of exports.

Greater participation of women in the economy and exports will be decisive in the process of building a strong future for our country. Because as an export family, we believe in and trust the unwavering dedication and determination of women. Women will be the architects of 'Turkey Rising Through Exports'.

Our women entrepreneurs need to have equal rights and participate more strongly in decision-making mechanisms in business life. The steps we will take in this context will mean setting examples not only in our country but also globally." Pointing out the importance of the work carried out by the TIM Women's Council, Gülle said: "Our Women's Council has accomplished great things in a short time. Our TIM Women Export Talks series, which serves as a bridge enabling experience sharing among our women exporters, special South America and Africa virtual trade delegations for our women exporters, the Zero Waste in Exports Project, Sustainability Action Plan, Women Entrepreneurship Program and many more projects have presented our Council's vision very successfully. We have many projects we plan to implement during the year.

For the development of our country's economy, we will evaluate our women exporters, who make important contributions to production, employment and exports, according to their annual export performance and reward them at the 'Strong Women in Exports Award Ceremony'. Also, with our 'Strong Women in Exports Film' project, which is among our visionary projects, we will promote the achievements of our women exporters."

Emphasizing that the number of women entrepreneurs and all support provided to entrepreneurs needs to be increased, Gülle said "As TIM, we are continuing our work in this direction intensively. Since 2015, we have supported over 150 women entrepreneurs within the TIM-TEB Enterprise House. Under the UR-GE projects, we have launched sectoral clustering activities to develop cooperation among our women exporters. With these projects, we aim to increase the order-taking potential of our women exporters by combining their supply capacities. We support the activities of the TIM Women's Council with appreciation. Our Council will, God willing, soon achieve our main goal of increasing the power and share of women in exports. We will build Turkey rising through exports with women."   Source
