Demands Put Forward by TİM Finding Solutions New demands conveyed to the government by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) are being resolved. The law proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly includes provisions for exemption from advertisement and publicity taxes in fair areas and the free transfer of portions of the Foreign Trade Complex allocated to the Ministry of Commerce that are used by exporters to TİM. Additionally, debts of members who have gone bankrupt, deceased, ceased trading, and have not exported in the last 5 years may be written off by decision at general assemblies. TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, stating that the export family, which is advancing toward new records with confident steps, is closely engaged with the problems of exporters so that their focus remains solely on exports, said: "All 122 demands we conveyed to our government over the last 2 years have been promptly resolved. Our requests in the new law proposal will also be implemented soon. I extend our gratitude to our esteemed President, who considers our exporters as travel companions, and to our Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş, who has always been by our side since taking office." The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), which serves as the umbrella organization for 61 exporter unions, 27 sectors, and more than 100,000 exporters, continues to find solutions to the problems of Turkish exporters, who are the frontline workers of economy and trade diplomacy. Through a 12-article law proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly regarding amendments to the Law on the Establishment and Duties of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and Exporter Unions and Some Other Laws, significant problems of exporters will be resolved. With the intensive efforts of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), advertisements and publicity conducted in the interior areas of fairs held in Turkey will be exempted from advertisement and publicity taxes. At the same time, the portion of the Foreign Trade Complex located in Yenibosna, which is under the allocation of the Ministry of Commerce and whose costs are 98% borne by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and two union general secretariats, and which houses the TİM General Secretariat and four exporter union general secretariats, will be transferred free of charge to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). Furthermore, debts of members who have gone bankrupt, deceased, ceased trading, and have not exported in the last 5 years may be written off by decision at general assemblies.

Fairs in Turkey will be exempted from advertisement and publicity taxes

As will be recalled, raids by municipal teams for advertisement and publicity taxes on our international fairs held recently in Istanbul and attended by foreign customers from abroad had not created a pleasant image. We had conveyed our requests on this matter to our government and Ministry of Commerce. Now, advertisements and publicity conducted in the interior areas where fairs held in Turkey are organized will be exempted from advertisement and publicity taxes. Furthermore, the Foreign Trade Complex located in Yenibosna, whose costs are 98% borne by TİM and our two exporter union general secretariats, was allocated to the Ministry of Commerce. With the support of our President and our Minister of Commerce, the portion of the Foreign Trade Complex in use will be transferred free of charge to TİM. At this point, our total exports in the first quarter of the year exceeded USD 60 billion. These figures are extremely important on our way to our goals in the current projection. To reach our 2022 target of USD 250 billion, we needed to increase our exports by USD 2.1 billion per month compared to the previous year. As a result of the latest figures, we are USD 10 billion ahead on the road to USD 250 billion in the first quarter. Foreign buyers are showing intense favor toward our Turkish companies. We see this in the delegations we have organized. There is serious demand and interest in our country across all sectors. The maintenance of the current momentum with an upward trend is increasing our expectations. We are advancing toward all our goals with great determination and confidence," he said.
