TİM Sets Roadmap for Exporters
Turkey's exporters have received their first-ever strategic vision and roadmap through the "Export 2019 Report" unveiled by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). TİM had declared this year as the year of "Sustainability and Innovation in Exports."
The report prepared by TİM within this scope contains a comprehensive action plan aimed at creating added value for exporters. The report also presents the "5G Roadmap," which serves as an exporter's roadmap.
TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, stating that since taking office they have worked intensively on projects that will create added value for exporters, said: "Within the framework of the 'Sustainability and Innovation in Exports' theme we announced for 2019, we have prepared a multidimensional and comprehensive action plan.
Our projects such as the First Steps in Exports Campaign, the Zero Waste in Exports Campaign to be implemented by the TİM Women's Council, and the Export Game Software have been put into practice within this scope. The Export 2019 Report, which we are announcing for the first time this year, will be released regularly every year and will set out the roadmap for exporters for that year.
This report brings together all our work in a single source, sheds light on global trends, analyzes our export situation, and identifies our target products and target markets. It is a highly valuable study.
Our action plan will proceed along the course of our 5G roadmap. In our 5G roadmap, we have included the headings: Strong Turkey, Strong Economy, Strong Exports, Strong Human Resources, Strong Infrastructure and Export Ecosystem.
The aim of the report is, beyond the records we target to break in exports, a Turkey that generates foreign trade surplus," he said. İsmail Gülle drew attention to the critical importance of the fourth section of the report, which reflects modeling and results, and shared key findings.
İsmail Gülle said: "Among the 200 most traded products in the world, our country has 47 strong export products. In these 47 products, the world's total imports amount to exactly USD 1.8 trillion, and their share in total world imports is 9.8 percent.
Our exports in these products are at the USD 50 billion level, and we capture 2.8 percent of the world trade in these products. Looking at just these figures, we can easily say this: By giving special importance and weight to these 47 products in which we are strong, we can capture a larger share of the USD 1.8 trillion demand," he said.
The headings in TİM's 5G are as follows:
-
Strong Turkey
-
Strong Economy
-
Strong Exports
-
Strong Human Resources
-
Strong Infrastructure and Export Ecosystem
