TİM Enters 2020 with New Practices
Turkish Exporters Council (TİM) is implementing its projects one by one to achieve the goal of 'Turkey with Trade Surplus'. Within this scope, TİM, which opened a Project and Digital Transformation Office, will resolve problems 24/7 through TİMMobile and AloTİM applications for exporters exceeding 90,000 in number, provide support for increasing export volume, and serve as a radar for entry into new markets. TİM, which announced the Export 2020 Report that will serve as a roadmap for exporters, also prepared a report on the Sustainability Code and Labeling System for Turkish export products.
Turkish Exporters Council (TİM) continues to take steps that facilitate the lives of exporters. TİM started 2020 with new applications in this context. Speaking at the introduction meeting of Digital Transformation and Export 2020 Report, which represents TİM's innovations for 2020, TİM President İsmail Gülle noted that Turkey's economy is undergoing an important structural transformation and a change in mindset, and stated: "We are in a period where the indispensability of exports for the sustainability of Turkey's economy has been established. For this reason, we have accelerated our work on next-generation trade diplomacy to increase the added value and volume of our exports and to accelerate entry into new markets. In line with this, we have started 2020 rapidly and with new records. We are implementing important transformations to provide our exporters with 24/7 service in order to reach our 2020 export target of 190 billion dollars and ultimately achieve our main goal of 'Turkey with Trade Surplus'."
Fair support now accessible with a single click
Pointing out that digitalization is now a reality of the age and trade is conducted in the digital environment, Gülle stated that TİM, through the Project and Digital Transformation Office established within its structure, has developed projects to catch up with the times and stand by exporters. Gülle, who said "After taking office, we are pleased to have implemented one by one the projects we promised for digitalization in such a short time of one and a half years," provided the following information: "Within this scope, we first redesigned the TİM website and enhanced it with user-friendly features, enabling exporters to conduct many transactions they need online through our website. Our exporters can now learn the amount of fair support provided to them by our Ministry through the Fair Support Panel accessible via the TİM website and mobile application with a single click. Through this, we aim for our exporters to conduct marketing and promotional activities proactively in the relevant target markets."Membership verification and validation made easier
Moreover, exporters can now create and obtain the "Membership Verification and Validation Certificate," one of the most important documents they use in customs procedures, through the website or e-government in seconds.Green passport query time shortened
Following the regulation on issuing green passports to exporters, a symbol of the government's importance to exporters, a green passport inquiry screen was also created according to companies' needs. Now, companies that wish to make inquiries about the green passport service can participate in the green passport inquiry test on both the TİM website and mobile application and access information about their green passport rights and the documents required to obtain a green passport in a very short time.TİM Mobile Application reaches the world with one touch
With another digital project, the mobile application, exporters can access all export and market data for global markets, next-generation target market analysis reports prepared by TİM, country information notes and other informative publications with a single touch, wherever they are in the world. Additionally, the live support button in the mobile application will provide active support for resolving exporters' problems.Joint digital platform with TSE
Exporters can also access all standards and certificates required for product supply to any point in the world through a digital platform on which TİM works together with the Turkish Standards Institute. This platform will be provided to exporters through TİM's mobile application and website.Export Radar guides toward new countries
With the Export Radar application developed for both the mobile application and website, exporters will be able to access detailed analysis, data and graphics about their products. Thus, they will be able to obtain information about new countries where their products can be marketed and products in which they have competitive advantages.AloTİM provides 24/7 support to exporters
Through the AloTİM application, exporters will find answers to their questions and problems on a 24/7 basis. Moreover, the AloTİM application will be updated as a living organism within the framework of changing needs taking into account requests from exporters. Exporters can now reach TİM 24/7 from any point in the world through WhatsApp, Facebook and Bip applications.Next-generation Commercial Diplomacy begins
Gülle said that TİM published the Export 2019 Report for the first time last year to shed light on global trends, analyze the state of exports, and identify target products and markets, and noted that the report received considerable interest as a new approach to the competitiveness analysis of Turkish export products in global trade through RCA analyses, and announced the Export 2020 Report. Gülle continued: "In our report, we first analyzed Turkey and the World Economy, global trade, the 2019 performance of our exports and expectations for 2020, opportunities and risks in the economy. We left 2019 behind as a year of firsts at TİM. In another section, we compiled the details of 'Year of Firsts' at TİM. Within this scope, all our work aimed at increasing the added value of exports and expanding export volume are included in our report. In 2020, one of the important topics on which we will focus in particular will be next-generation commercial diplomacy activities. In this context, we focused on the pillars of next-generation trade diplomacy such as next-generation trade delegations, e-export, digital platforms and Turkey logistics centers. In our report, as a special section, like our RCA analysis from last year, we examined global trends toward 2030 and the future of both commercial and economic indicators through a 360-degree perspective. We shared in detail which countries will have the highest imports in the world in 2030 and which products and sectors will be subject to greater global trade in these countries. At the point of increasing our current export performance, we conducted analyses of product, sector and market concentration for both the main countries with which Turkey competes and target market countries and product concentration in our report so that our exporters can avoid the risk of product, sector and market concentration, can evaluate new opportunities and can draw their export routes correctly."TİM's 2020 agenda
Gülle continued his remarks: "In our report, in addition to analyses and forecasts, we presented the Council's 2019 activities and 2020 agenda to economic circles. We shaped our 2020 agenda around our 5G vision, which expresses Strong Turkey, Strong Economy, Strong Exports, Strong Human Resources and Strong Infrastructure and Export Ecosystem. This year, as we will continue our events that create national impact such as Turkey Innovation Week and Turkey Design Week, we have embarked on a year in which we will restructure our international events. In our agenda, we also have projects for opening new-generation TİM offices similar to the TİM North Cyprus office, which we opened in 2020, and establishing new partnerships with international institutions and NGOs. This year, we will continue to publish target market analysis reports and country information notes, both sectoral and country-based, with more intensive and more detailed content."Exporters will achieve sustainability compliance
Placing special importance on sustainable exports both for future generations and for Turkey's position in the world's future, TİM completed a comprehensive technical report study on the Sustainability Code and Labeling System for Turkish export products within this scope. In the TİM Sustainability Report, exporters are guided on topics such as sustainable exports, green economy, clean production technologies and sustainability in the financial system. The goals are for exporters to achieve both cost savings and increased efficiency, increase the added value of exports, and achieve a manufacturing integration that prioritizes a green future.Advertisement
