TEGV Highlights the Importance of the Right to Education Once Again on World Children's Rights Day
The Turkish Educational Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), marking the 30th anniversary of its establishment, highlighted its efforts supporting children's right to education on World Children's Rights Day. The foundation, which has provided quality education support to 3.2 million children with more than 100,000 volunteers to date, continues its work to ensure that every child has access to opportunities to realize their potential.
Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and World Children's Rights Day, emphasized its work supporting children's right to education. The foundation, which has provided quality education support to over 3.2 million children through more than 100,000 volunteers to date, continues its efforts to ensure every child has access to opportunities to realize their potential.
World Children's Rights Day, celebrated on 20 November each year, aims to draw attention to children's fundamental rights and particularly the right to education. In this context, Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), which has provided quality education support to primary school-age children for 30 years, continues its work uninterruptedly with the vision of "One Child Changes, Turkey Develops."
Contributing to the upbringing of contemporary generations in line with the principles and values of the Republic, TEGV continues to support children's academic, social and emotional development through contemporary and innovative education programmes at activity centers throughout Turkey. The foundation conducts awareness-raising programmes on children's rights both through in-person events and remote education opportunities.
Rights-Based Education Support at 62 Activity Centers
TEGV operates at a total of 62 activity centers in 24 provinces of Turkey, comprising 6 Education Parks, 30 Learning Units and 26 Fireflies. With the support of over 100,000 volunteers, the foundation has reached more than 3.2 million children to date, providing all children with opportunities to dream, learn, create and discover their own abilities.
Programmes implemented in various fields such as arts, science, technology and life skills strengthen both children's cognitive abilities and self-confidence. TEGV conducts "Children's Rights" based awareness activities at all activity centers, supporting children in recognizing their rights, advocating for them and developing as strong individuals.
