President of Tatarstan Pledges Investment in Turkey

Rüstem Minnihanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, visited GEBKİM, Turkey's first and only specialized chemical industrial zone, to review investment and cooperation projects that Tatar companies plan to undertake in Turkey. Speaking during the industrial zone tour accompanied by Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, President Minnihanov stated, "I have been to many countries around the world and visited numerous industrial zones, but I have not encountered industrial zones operating as well as those in Turkey. We were particularly impressed by GEBKİM's facilities and structure. We intend to invest in Turkey." During the visit, the GEBKİM Kindergarten, whose foundation was laid by Minister Varank, was also inaugurated. Rüstem Minnihanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, visited GEBKİM (Kocaeli-Gebze Chemical Specialization Industrial Zone), Turkey's first and only specialized chemical industrial zone, to review investment and cooperation projects that Tatar companies plan to undertake in Turkey. The visit, which took place with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, also included the inauguration of the GEBKİM Kindergarten, whose foundation was laid by Minister Varank 8 months earlier.

"I HAVE NOT ENCOUNTERED INDUSTRIAL ZONES OPERATING AS WELL AS THOSE IN TURKEY"

Following the GEBKİM tour, at a meal reception, Rüstem Minnihanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, delivered remarks stating, "Every time we come to Turkey, you welcome us as if we were at home. We feel at home here. I have been to many countries around the world and visited numerous industrial zones, but I must say; I have not encountered Organized Industrial Zones operating as well as those in Turkey. We were particularly impressed by GEBKİM's facilities and structure. With the support you provide to entrepreneurs, businessmen, and workers here, you are a fine example for everyone. I see two reasons behind your success. First, the Turkish nation and Turkish people are very hardworking, entrepreneurial, and industrious. Second, you have a government that supports such a hardworking and entrepreneurial people. All necessary support is provided for entrepreneurs and industrialists."

President Minnihanov, speaking admiringly of Turkey's investments made in Tatarstan, said, "We visited many organized industrial zones in Turkey and accumulated their work experience. With Turkey's assistance, many Turkish companies realized their investments in Tatarstan. Now we also intend to invest in Turkey. We spoke with our Minister; he is a very dynamic and hardworking person. We Tatars are known for our hard work, but we see here that you make even greater efforts than us. We accept this good will with gratitude. As long as you work, we will follow your example of hard work and cooperate with you."

Vefa İbrahim Aracı, Chairman of GEBKİM's Board of Management, stated, "As the president of GEBKİM OSB of Tatar origin, it was a great honor for me to host the Leader of Tatarstan. When I met with President Minnihanov in Kazan, he gave me some advice. Now I listen to that advice and, as a Tatar, I invite you to invest in our beautiful Turkey that has opened its arms to us. As children of the same nation living in two different countries, under the leadership of our President, we await you to invest in Turkey, particularly in GEBKİM."

CHILDREN OF PRODUCING FAMILIES WILL DEVELOP IN THE BEST MANNER

The GEBKİM Kindergarten, whose foundation was laid by Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank 8 months earlier, was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by Minister Varank. Opened to provide the best development for children of producing families, GEBKİM Kindergarten will serve not only working families but also families in the region with a capacity of 120 full-day students and 240 half-day students. Consisting of six classrooms and four workshops, GEBKİM Kindergarten features a Montessori Classroom where children will discover the world, an Art Classroom where they will experience art, a Gymnastics Classroom for winter sports activities, a Chemistry Classroom where they will experience chemistry, a Culture Classroom where they will learn about world cultures, a Space Classroom where they will explore the boundaries of space, an Intelligence Games Classroom where they can play 70 different puzzle games, a Foreign Language Classroom where foreign languages will be taught in the native language, a Stories Classroom where they can listen to stories and develop their imagination, and most importantly, a Mathematics Classroom that will remove mathematics from being a source of fear.
