Agricultural Producer Price Index (Agri-PPI) Data Released

Agricultural PPI Data Released Turkey's Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released July's agricultural products producer price index (Agricultural-PPI) data. In July, there was an 8.03% increase compared to the previous month, a 35.14% increase compared to December of the previous year, a 62.48% increase compared to the same month of the previous year, and a 102.10% increase compared to twelve-month averages. By sector compared to the previous month, forestry products and related services increased 6.84%, agriculture and hunting products and related services increased 8.01%, and fish and other fishery products increased 10.16%. In main groups compared to the previous month, live animals and animal products increased 3%, annual plant products increased 8.04%, and perennial plant products increased 16.63%.

3 subgroups showed lower changes, 8 subgroups showed higher changes

The subgroups with lower annual increases were, respectively, fibrous plants at 11.33% and cereals excluding rice, legumes and oilseeds at 17.99%. In contrast, the subgroups with higher annual increases were, respectively, vegetables and melons-watermelons, roots and tubers at 108.92% and live poultry and eggs at 90.79%.

According to monthly Agricultural-PPI, 7 subgroups showed lower changes, 4 subgroups showed higher changes

The subgroups with higher monthly increases were soft stone fruits and hard stone fruits at 12.62% and vegetables and melons-watermelons, roots and tubers at 12.51%. The only subgroup showing a decrease compared to the previous month was rice at 0.45%. In July 2023, of the 87 items covered in the index, 21 items showed a decrease in average price and 59 items showed an increase in average price.   Source
