Turkish Leaders Continue to Rise in Takeda's Global Organization

Japanese pharmaceutical giant Takeda continues to draw attention for appointing Turkish executives to senior global leadership positions across its operations in 80 countries. Over the past 10 years, more than 30 Turkish leaders have been promoted to global roles, further strengthening the company's worldwide management team with talent from Turkey. In this context, Dr. Ahmet Melih Küreç, one of Takeda's prominent leaders, has been appointed as Medical and Patient Services Director at Takeda India.

With more than 30 Turkish leaders brought into global roles over the past 10 years, the company's worldwide management team is being strengthened by talent emerging from Turkey. In this context, Dr. Ahmet Melih Küreç, one of Takeda's prominent leaders, has been appointed as Takeda India Medical and Patient Services Director.
A Leadership Story Extending from Turkey to the Global Stage
Dr. Ahmet Melih Küreç, who has served as Takeda GEM Region (Growing and Emerging Markets) Oncology Medical Leader for the past 4 years, will assume an important responsibility in the India organization as of 1 December 2025.
Turkish executives who manage large teams across different countries and lead regional strategies are among the key representatives of Takeda's inclusive culture. Dr. Küreç's new role is one of the latest examples of this strong representation.

International Experience and Multidimensional Leadership
Dr. Küreç, with over 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, began his career with experience gained at global companies such as Bayer and AstraZeneca, and joined Takeda Turkey in 2017 as Oncology Medical Director.
-Throughout his 8-year career within Takeda,
-Led strategic projects in Turkey, ICMEA and GEM regions,
-Developed regional medical strategies in Rare Genetic Diseases, Neuroscience and Oncology,
-Worked with multiple market structures across a wide geography spanning from Russia to the Middle East, Latin America to Asia-Pacific,
-Played a critical role in shaping global medical roadmaps.
New Role: Shaping Medical Strategies in India
In his new role, Dr. Küreç will lead the identification and implementation of medical priorities nationwide:
-Development of therapeutic area-specific scientific strategies,
-Strengthening the scientific capabilities of medical and field teams,
-Scaling real-world data and evidence generation projects,
-Developing digital health applications,
-Adoption of a sustainable and patient-centric approach across the country
among other critical responsibilities.
Strong Academic Background
Dr. Küreç completed his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and his master's degree at Bahçeşehir University. Additionally, he has participated in advanced leadership and scientific training programs at world-leading universities such as Oxford and Harvard, further strengthening his academic and managerial expertise.
