Sözer Makina Unveils Mixing Technologies for Medium and High Viscosity Products

Our company has been operating since 1946, and particularly over the last 44 years has devoted itself to the manufacture of mixer stirring machines used in the chemical industry. The most important and distinguishing feature of our company is that we conduct customer-focused manufacturing.

For example, when we present to our customer a proposal such as "By adding new features to our machine according to your needs, you can reduce production processes and increase product quality by X amount," this user finds it appealing. Our aim is always: to create differentiation by producing high-value-added machines, and while reducing the production processes of the products manufactured by users, to elevate their quality equally. Additionally, our strategy based on win-win principles elevates the commercial relationships we maintain with our business partners to higher levels.

In addition to machines with single-shaft mixing systems that have existed for many years, our two- or three-shaft combined mixers developed for the building chemicals sector, which is developing significantly in our country, are seeing serious demand.

The target customer base for machines in this category are companies producing products at viscosity levels of 1,500–3,000,000 centipoise.

If the raw materials in products of this viscosity can only be mixed into the product through dispersion, the machines require a high-speed mixing impeller.

For this mixing impeller to perform the dispersion process, it must have dispersion impellers capable of reaching peripheral speeds of 19-25 m/s.

In the mixing of high or low viscosity products, high-speed dispersion alone is not sufficient, and such systems can be used in all fields where a highly homogeneous mixture is required in short periods with heavy-duty mixing.

Due to its high and heavy-duty mixing capabilities, it has a wide range of applications. In a sense, these are systems that have reduced the operation of two different machines into one.

The machine has two or three mixing systems. These can operate independently from each other.

For example, in a three-shaft machine, the first can have two dispersion impellers on a shaft operating in the 100-1,500 rpm range; the second can have two butterfly mixers on a shaft operating in the 50-700 rpm range and a center scraper-mixer system rotating in the 0-20 rpm range.

Equipment on the shaft can be revised as required.

It has electro-hydraulic systems that allow it to rise and lower on its own body, and for safety reasons, automatic stoppage of the mixing shafts is provided after a certain height. Through the vacuum system on the machine, air bubbles formed in the produced product will not be able to exit in their natural state. For this reason, the atmospheric pressure, which is 760 mm Hg at sea level, is reduced to levels of 50-100 mm Hg, and by vacuuming the space between the product and the vacuum cover, these bubbles are forced out. This process is carried out by means of a vacuum pump. Additionally, as an optional feature, in cases where the vacuum process is very critical, pressure sensors integrated into the PLC system are used. The sensor thereby detects pressure losses and activates the vacuum pump.
The dispersion impeller, due to its blade profile and peripheral speed, can generate a certain amount of heat on the material. A PT100 temperature gauge is present to ensure that the produced product does not deform upon reaction with heat or to monitor this temperature curve.
The body features an electro-hydraulic clamp mechanism to secure the mixing tank. The main electric motor, which allows long-duration operation at low speeds, also has a cooling motor. In multi-shaft combined mixers, in addition to optional features such as scraper, vacuum and pressure, standard features include timer-controlled mixing, and cast body characteristics in models with 1,000–1,100–1,500 and 2,000 litre capacities. The cast body of the machine ensures lifetime durability and rigid operation. On the machine control screen, apart from machine functions, you can see separate rpm, amperage, and timer digital displays for the mixing motors and digital temperature display screens showing the temperature of the produced product. Combined mixer machines are manufactured in compliance with "CE" and "Occupational Health and Safety" standards. Ex-proof in ATEX Zone 1 EEx dIIB T4 standards, vacuum, pressure, semi- or fully automatic recipe control systems, and PLS control system features are offered as optional features. Combined mixer machines can be manufactured between 1,000 and 5,000 litres. Models above 2,000 litres are positioned on a platform. Additionally, Planet Malaxer machines, used for mixing medium and high viscosity products and manufactured under the Sözer® brand, with a 1,500 litre capacity model to obtain higher capacity product in a single batch, have also been produced with vacuum and PLC options and delivered to addresses in Europe.
Materials that do not require dispersion processing are intended to be mixed with a planet-system mixer. This process is designed with a maximum pallet speed of 80 rpm.
The advantage of the planet system is that the pallets can both rotate around their own axis and, offset from the tank axis, rotate through the entire tank making contact with all points in the tank. Thus, for example, a blade located 10 cm above the tank bottom will be able to make contact with all product at that height within the tank. Optimal mixing is targeted in these processes. Planet Malaxer machines are generally used in the production of building chemicals with medium viscosity (all types of putty, paste, sealant and waterproofing components, adhesives, plastisols, etc.), as well as in the pharmaceutical and food sectors. Since the body and head groups are completely steel cast, they have an extremely robust structure. Additionally, in addition to the existing mixing system, there may be areas within the tank walls of the produced products that remain stationary. There is a scraper arm coupled to the planet system, also rotating at 80 rpm, designed to direct these products onto the mixer pallets. The Sözer® brand today shares its production technology and services not only with business partners within the country, but with addresses in 39 different countries, accounting for approximately 60% of our production.
