Solimpeks, a leading renewable energy company, draws attention to the place of the sun in our lives and the importance of solar energy on the occasion of World Sun Day on 21 June. Gazi Çelebi, General Manager of Solimpeks Turkey, emphasizing that Turkey has significant potential in solar energy, states: "We must invest in renewable energy and therefore in the sun for the future of Turkey and our world." The sun is the source of life and at the same time a unique energy source… This energy source, which is both sustainable and efficient, must be utilized for the future of our country and our world. Solimpeks, the largest solar thermal producer in Turkey, draws attention to the importance of solar energy on the occasion of World Sun Day on 21 June. Gazi Çelebi, General Manager of Solimpeks Turkey, noting that energy demand is increasing due to the growing world population each passing day, states: "It is estimated that the world population will reach 9 billion in 2050, and energy demand will reach 28 billion kWh. These figures actually indicate how valuable energy will be in the future. While energy sources like the fossil fuels we currently use are gradually depleting, we are not yet utilizing the sun, our most important energy source, sufficiently. Our country in particular has great potential in terms of solar energy, with an average of 200 sunny days per year, and it is possible to generate energy from the sun in every region. If we realize the importance of solar energy, we can prevent energy dependence on foreign sources." Emphasizing that solar energy systems can meet a household's energy needs, Çelebi states: "A 100-square-meter insulated house requires a total of 14,000 kWh of energy per year. Of this energy, 10,500 kWh/year is consumed in heating-cooling, 1,680 kWh/year in hot water, and 1,800 kWh/year in lighting and electrical appliances. From this perspective, with an average hourly solar energy generation system of 5 kWh, this entire annual energy need can be met. This means approximately TRY 7,000 in savings per year. It is even possible to generate income by selling surplus to the state."
