SOCAR Türkiye Backs Innovation Management Standard

SOCAR Türkiye Supports Innovation Management Standard SOCAR Türkiye played an active role in the preparation of the Innovation Management Standard, which ISO has begun creating for the first time in the world. Turkey's largest integrated industrial holding and direct foreign investor SOCAR Türkiye continues to design new standards, going beyond existing standards in the field of business processes and quality management systems. SOCAR Türkiye, which has defined its vision in the field of Business Processes and Quality Management Systems as being "a team that designs standards rather than follows standards," took an active role in the preparation work for ISO's Innovation Management Standard, which is being created for the first time in the world in line with its stated vision. Following the publication of the standard, SOCAR Türkiye, in cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), achieved the world's first ISO 56002 Innovation Certification in the industry at SOCAR Türkiye Research and Development and Innovation Company. İbrahim Kadıoğlu, Vice President of Business Excellence of SOCAR Türkiye's Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit, continued as follows: "In line with our sustainability strategy, in 2022, we obtained the ISCC (International Sustainability Carbon Certification) certificate for the first time, which demonstrates the traceability of sustainable raw materials and products manufactured with these raw materials in a transparent manner throughout the supply chain, guaranteeing our stakeholders that products meet sustainability requirements. We obtained certification for the ISO 55001 Asset Management System, which aims to analyze the costs, risks, opportunities and performance of company assets through correct approaches, planning and implementation and to maximize benefits from them, within the scope of Petkim and STAR Refinery. We have achieved another first in Turkey on such a large scale."  

Business process management contributes to organizational agility

İbrahim Kadıoğlu, noting that they conduct information exchange with many associations, civil society organizations and companies in Turkey within the scope of quality activities, stated the following: "We continue business process work simultaneously with Quality Management System Activities. Today's changing business environment, the increasing complexity and prevalence of high-impact technologies create difficulties for organizations in conducting their operations. Companies in all sectors and geographies are focusing more on Business Process Management to address these challenges. Modeling business processes; analyzing, measuring, improving, optimizing, increasing agility and digitizing is a strategic approach using various methods. Additionally, analytical approach, continuous monitoring and decision management form a system whole that coordinates people, systems, information and materials to achieve targeted business results. Although the drawing of 'business flowcharts' in many organizations is perceived as business process management, it actually does not represent a correct approach. Lean, understandable business process management designed end-to-end and aligned with organizational strategy contributes to continuous improvement by enhancing the organization's adaptation to change, agility, achievement of value-added outputs and productivity."
