Şişecam International Glass Conference to Bring Industry Together in Istanbul on Its 40th Anniversary

Şişecam will host the 40th edition of the Şişecam International Glass Conference, one of the glass sector's major information-sharing platforms, on 18-19 June 2026 in Istanbul. The conference will take place in hybrid format at Raffles Istanbul Hotel and will bring together over 350 sector professionals.

Under the theme "United to Innovate: A Future-Focused Transformation of Energy & Glass," the event will address topics shaping the sector's future, including energy transformation, sustainability, digitalization, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing technologies.

ENERGY TRANSFORMATION AND THE GLASS SECTOR'S FUTURE ON THE AGENDA
Among the conference's keynote speakers will be Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA). Birol will assess the impacts of global energy transformation on industry while sharing perspectives on sustainable production, energy efficiency and low-carbon transformation in the glass sector.

Other key speakers at the event include Davide Cappellino, President of AGC Architectural Glass Europe and Americas and Chairman of the Board of Glass for Europe Belgium, and architect Murat Tabanlıoğlu. Cappellino will discuss opportunities and challenges in Europe's flat glass sector during the sustainability and energy transformation process, while Tabanlıoğlu will address the role of glass in architecture and design.

PANELS FOCUSED ON INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY
Panel sessions held during the conference will examine in detail the innovation and technology ecosystem in the glass sector.

In the "How the Glass Innovation and Technology Ecosystem Works" panel to be held on the first day, discussions will cover the process from research through industrial-scale implementation, decarbonization efforts and sector collaborations.

The "From Lab to Scalable Innovation" panel on the second day will address technology commercialization, scaling strategies, entrepreneurship ecosystems, investment processes and corporate-startup partnerships.

DIGITALIZATION, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND LOW-CARBON PRODUCTION ON AGENDA
Parallel sessions over two days will cover energy transformation, decarbonization, digitalization, artificial intelligence applications and advanced manufacturing technologies. International experts will share current developments regarding smart glass technologies, low-carbon production methods and artificial intelligence-driven manufacturing solutions.

The conference will also feature poster sessions and will provide participants with opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration and networking.
