Şişecam Enters the 'World Sustainability League'

Düzcam, a global player in all fundamental sectors of glass including household glassware, glass packaging and glass fiber, as well as in business lines covering soda and chromium compounds, Şişecam Group has entered the 'World Sustainability League' as a result of its operations conducted with sensitivity to people and the environment. Şişecam, with its successful performance, was included in the "Best Emerging Markets Performers" list comprising 100 companies worldwide, which was realized within the scope of the "Viego Eiris Sustainability Index 2018" in which 855 companies from 35 sectors in 31 countries were evaluated. Şişecam Group, which integrates sustainability principles with its internal processes and aims to create sustainable value with an approach sensitive to individuals and the environment, has stood out since its establishment with ethical values, transparency, accountable and open management style, as well as a responsible approach to all its stakeholders. Viego Eiris, an international institution providing research and rating services to investors, public institutions and non-governmental organizations in the fields of environment, social and governance, evaluates companies' performance under six main headings and 38 topics by analyzing risks and opportunities in the economy when developing the Sustainability Index. In the research repeated every six months, the categories of environment, human rights, human resources, social and economic conditions of society, business practices and corporate governance are used as the basis. Companies are evaluated in accordance with the work they carry out on human rights, good employment practices, environmental protection, corporate governance, business ethics and social and economic development in the sector in which they operate.
