Şişecam Makes Strategic Investment in Raw Material Supply Şişecam has made a strategic investment decision to ensure sustainability in raw material supply as its new flat glass investments in Mersin come online. Şişecam will invest in a sand preparation facility within its land in Tarsus OSB where its new flat glass plant investment is underway, and will also increase the capacity of its limestone and dolomite processing facility in Mersin. The total investment amount for the new sand preparation facility and limestone dolomite processing facility capacity expansion will be approximately TRY 1.5 billion (USD 82 million). Şişecam has made a strategic investment decision to ensure sustainability in raw material supply as its new flat glass investments in Mersin come online. Şişecam will build a new sand preparation facility within its land in Tarsus OSB to meet the raw material needs of the flat glass investment that will begin operations in 2025, and will also increase the capacity of its limestone and dolomite processing facility in Mersin. With this move, Şişecam ensures access to nearby and sustainable sources for its production processes while aiming to eliminate supply chain risks stemming from today's disrupted supply chains before they emerge through a proactive management approach. With an investment amount of approximately TRY 1.5 billion (USD 82 million), the investments aimed for completion in September 2024 will result in the sand preparation facility meeting flat glass and tempered glass needs with an annual capacity of 490,000 tons. With a capacity increase of 165,000 tons, the annual capacity of the Mersin dolomite limestone preparation facility will reach 655,000 tons annually.
