Speaking at the General Meeting, Şişecam General Manager Can Yücel noted that 2025 proved challenging due to macroeconomic fluctuations and geopolitical developments, and stressed that the company successfully managed this period through strong operational capabilities and flexible production structure.
Yücel said, "In this period of increased uncertainty on a global scale, we pursued productivity, disciplined financial management and long-term investment approach simultaneously. As Şişecam, we turned these challenges into opportunities with our strong management reflex and production expertise spread across multiple geographies."
Productivity and digitalization-focused transformation
Noting that Şişecam focused on productivity and digital transformation throughout 2025, Yücel stated that the Productivity Management Programme deployed streamlined business processes and strengthened cash generation capacity and liquidity.
Integration of digitalization and artificial intelligence applications into business processes, sustainability-focused transformation and effective use of geographic diversity were among the company's strategic priorities highlighted during the year.
Key investments in 2025
Şişecam maintained investment discipline in 2025, focusing on high-value-added areas. In this context:
-Scheduled maintenance at the flat glass facility in Northern Italy was brought forward, providing cost advantage
-Frosted glass furnace and solar glass processing line in Tarsus were commissioned
-Hand production operations in Denizli were relocated to Kırklareli, shifting to a more integrated and sustainable structure
-Production lines in Germany and Hungary were consolidated in Slovakia, increasing productivity
-The natural soda ash facility in Wyoming, USA maintained strong performance
Strong start into 2026
The company began 2026 with significant steps. In this context:
-First furnace at the glass container facility in Hungary was commissioned for test production
-New coated glass lines became operational in Bulgaria and Italy
-Flat glass investment in Tarsus with annual capacity of 432,000 tonnes was completed
-Financing agreement reached with International Finance Corporation
-USD 500 million Eurobond issuance was successfully completed with strong demand
-Sales, marketing and supply chain functions were separated, transitioning to new organizational structure
Target: high-value-added and sustainable growth
Şişecam aims to increase the share of high-value-added operations in its portfolio in 2026, strengthen its position in selected markets and pursue sustainable growth through technology-focused productivity improvements.
Operating on a global scale in glass and chemicals sectors, the company plans to continue its growth with a strategy focused on innovation and sustainability.
