Siemens and Microsoft advance Siemens Industrial Copilot through groundbreaking industrial automation collaboration.

The combination of Siemens' deep industry expertise across sectors with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service enables the Copilot to better address complex manufacturing and automation needs. Over 100 companies, including Schaeffler and thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering, are already using Siemens Industrial Copilot to optimize business processes, overcome workforce challenges and foster innovation. The 120,000 users of Siemens' engineering software TIA Portal now have the opportunity to further enhance their work with this AI-powered assistant.

Thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering stands out as the first company planning global deployment of Siemens Industrial Copilot. Starting in early 2025, machines will be designed with this AI-powered assistant and used across the entire product portfolio. This move reinforces Siemens' leadership in delivering AI solutions to the industry in automation engineering. Additionally, easy access to these capabilities is provided through the Siemens Xcelerator open digital business platform.

Productivity Gains

Since its introduction in July 2024, Siemens Industrial Copilot has begun being used to boost productivity across many sectors. Engineers can now create panel visualizations in 30 seconds and generate code requiring only 20 percent adaptation. This process reduces manual workload, and the Copilot's chat feature allows engineers to receive instant clear answers. 

Battery Quality Transformation

thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering is highlighting the transformation potential that Siemens Industrial Copilot provides, particularly in complex areas such as battery and hydrogen assembly lines.

For example, one Copilot-enabled machine plays a critical role in the quality of batteries manufactured for electric vehicles. This also stands out as an important step in enabling a sustainable energy transition and ensuring 100 percent reliable batteries. 

The Copilot accelerates these processes by managing data, configuring sensors and meeting strict solid-state battery inspection requirements.
