Roche and ADYSK Launch Important Project for the Sea of Marmara

Roche Pharma Turkey and the Islands Sea Life and Sports Club Association (ADYSK) have initiated the "Let the Seas Be Full of Life" project to preserve the Sea of Marmara with all its hidden riches for future generations. Within the scope of this project, Turkey's first coral transplantation is being carried out. The project launched to protect biodiversity in the Sea of Marmara marks Turkey's first coral transplantation operation. The scientific component of the project is supported by TÜBİTAK and is being conducted through voluntary cooperation between Istanbul University and ADYSK. Under the project, corals facing extinction in the waters off the Islands have been transplanted through propagation to the waters off Neandros, also known as Rabbit Island, with a success rate of 90 percent. The Let the Seas Be Full of Life project has also taken an important step toward cleaning ghost nets that pose vital threats to underwater life.
