Decision on Application of Safeguard Measures in Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Imports
Decision published in the Official Gazette on 8 November 2017 concerning "Implementation of Protective Measures on Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Imports" determined that an additional financial obligation will be applied as a protective measure for three years on imports of items in Customs Tariff Statistics Position 3907.61.00.00.00 with "viscosity of 78 ml/g or higher" (Polyacetals, other polyethers and epoxy resins (in primary forms); polycarbonates, alkyd resins, polyallyl esters and other polyesters).
On the other hand, tariff quotas have been opened to exempt goods originating from the countries and customs territories listed in the annex of the Decision from the application of protective measures. The tariff quota amount in question has been set at a total of 6,995 tonnes for all goods over the periods, and the tariff quota to be granted to each country in one period shall not exceed 2,332 tonnes.
