The "Plastic Commitments Guide" prepared for the Business Plastic Initiative (İPG), launched in cooperation with Global Compact Türkiye, SKD Türkiye and TÜSİAD, has been completed. The guide, which contains detailed work on reducing plastic pollution and making commitments in this direction, was presented at a webinar held on 28 July. The Business Plastic Initiative (İPG) introduced the comprehensive guide to companies at a webinar held on 28 July, which was prepared by SKD Türkiye over an intensive three-month period and consists of four sections. The guide was prepared based on existing partnerships with global networks and research, evaluation and analysis conducted to enable companies to fulfil their commitments to reduce plastic pollution most effectively. The Guide, which has the distinction of being the first study prepared at the national level in this scope, will be made available for use by companies that are signatories to İPG and will make commitments. İPG was established in November 2019 through the cooperation of Global Compact Türkiye, SKD Türkiye and TÜSİAD with the vision of realizing a circular plastic economy. As Turkey's first and only plastic initiative, İPG aims to reduce plastic pollution in our country. İPG stands out by bringing together actors in the plastic value chain, local administrations and public institutions, investors, non-governmental organizations, academia and citizens—in other words, all multiple stakeholders in the entire plastic value chain, in particular the business world. The Business Plastic Initiative was established to encourage private sector organizations to create commitments to reduce plastic pollution and to ensure they report their commitments transparently on an annual basis. The plastic commitments of companies participating in the Initiative will be reviewed regularly and progress recorded will be shared with the public every year. So far, nearly fifty companies have joined the Initiative and declared that they will announce their commitments to reduce plastic pollution.
