PLASFED Chairman Ömer Karadeniz:

Ömer Karadeniz, Chairman of the Board of the Plastik Sanayicileri Federasyonu (PLASFED), stated that they support the fight against inflation and said that sustainable growth in the Turkish economy should be shaped around production, investment and exports. Emphasizing that high financing costs are weighing on investment appetite and industrial production, Karadeniz said, "The key to Turkey's new growth period is production, investment and exports."

PLASFED Chairman Ömer Karadeniz stated that they support the disinflation process and said that sustainable growth in Turkey's economy should be shaped around production, investment and exports. Karadeniz, emphasizing that high financing costs are dampening investment appetite and industrial production, said "The key to Turkey's new growth period is production, investment and exports."

PLASFED Chairman Ömer Karadeniz, noting that steps taken toward disinflation in Turkey's economy are showing positive signals in macroeconomic indicators, drew attention to the need to strengthen production capacity for lasting growth.

Karadeniz, stating that industry is one of the fundamental elements of growth, exports and employment, pointed to the importance of fighting inflation and said, "Economies that cannot preserve their production capacity cannot create lasting prosperity. Turkey's new growth story must be written with production and industry."

High financing costs dampening investment appetite
Noting that recent economic data indicates progress in the disinflation process, Karadeniz said that high financing costs, weakening investment appetite and contraction in manufacturing continue to pose risks for the real sector.

Emphasizing that production is critical not only in terms of economic size but also in technology development, exports, employment and global competitiveness, Karadeniz said that supporting industrial investments is important for Turkey's medium and long-term development goals.

"Growth cannot be lasting without strengthening industry"
Recalling that industry lagged behind the economy in first-quarter growth figures, Karadeniz stated that policies aimed at strengthening production capacity need to be accelerated.

Karadeniz said, "For the economy's rebalancing process to succeed, the production side must be supported equally. Policies that will increase industrial investments, promote exports and boost value-added production should become a priority."

Karadeniz, noting that consumption-driven growth can have positive effects on economic indicators in the short term, emphasized that the foundation of long-term and sustainable development is production.

Eyes on industry in second-quarter growth
Stating that second-quarter growth figures expected to be released soon will provide important indicators regarding the direction of economic recovery, Karadeniz said that industry production's contribution to growth needs to be closely monitored.

Karadeniz, noting that leading indicators do not yet point to a strong recovery in industry, said, "The quality of growth is as important as its pace. A picture in which production and exports make stronger contributions to growth would be much more valuable for Turkey's economic future."

Expressing that industry must become the engine of renewed growth, Karadeniz said that strengthening production capacity will be decisive in terms of sustainable development, lasting prosperity and global competitiveness.

Noting that Turkey has a strong industrial infrastructure, Karadeniz said that with the right policies and production-promoting practices, the existing potential can be transformed into higher value-added.

"Our competitive power must be protected"
Drawing attention to intensifying competition in global markets, Karadeniz stated that the balance between production costs, financing expenses and exchange rates is critical for exporters.

Recalling that Turkish industry has achieved significant export successes in recent years, Karadeniz said that keeping production costs under control is important for sustaining this performance.

PLASFED Chairman Karadeniz, noting that Turkish industry is trying to maintain its production, investment and export capacity despite difficult conditions, emphasized that production, technology and industry will be decisive in Turkey's achievement of sustainable growth targets.

Karadeniz said, "The right steps taken today will not only strengthen manufacturers but also boost exports, employment and our country's global competitiveness. An economy that produces, invests and creates value-added will be the most solid foundation for Turkey's new growth period."
