Petkim becomes a member of MIT's Industrial Liaison Program (ILP)

Petkim, a subsidiary of SOCAR Türkiye, has joined the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the world's leading universities in technology and engineering, with the aim of bringing its R&D work and strategic research contributing to sector development to the global arena. In this program, established by MIT to create and strengthen mutual connections and knowledge and technology exchange with companies worldwide, Petkim will focus on specific research areas of strategic importance. The MIT-ILP membership, which is of significant importance for Petkim's projects in digital transformation and innovation—areas that form one of the company's main strategies—will have an initial term of two years. This period may be mutually extended based on the needs of the projects to be carried out. Within the scope of the program, MIT researchers and Petkim R&D and Production units will identify potential topics related to the project in August. In September, experts from Petkim will travel to the United States to hold a meeting with MIT. Mutual training and work focused on potentially relevant areas will continue throughout the year. With direct employment of 2,500 people and net sales exceeding TRY 7 billion in 2017, Petkim aims to advance its leading position and experience in the sector further through support from MIT's extensive application and human resources infrastructure in global R&D and engineering projects.
