Yavuz Eroğlu Re-elected as Chairman of PAGEV
PAGEV, which represents the plastics sector in Turkey's economy, held an elective ordinary General Assembly. At the PAGEV 2019 General Assembly, Yavuz Eroğlu was elected chairman for the third time. Calling on all sector stakeholders to act together, Yavuz Eroğlu said, "Strength comes from unity. As has been the case so far, we are ready to work shoulder to shoulder with all our stakeholders for the growth of our sector and the solution of its problems."
Turkish Plastics Manufacturers Research, Development and Education Foundation (PAGEV) selected the Chairman, Vice Chairman and three renewed Board Members in accordance with the Articles of Association at the General Assembly where a single slate was voted on. At the General Assembly held on 1 February Saturday at Istanbul Hilton Bomonti Hotel and marking PAGEV's broadest participation in an election, PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu was re-elected to the Chairmanship.
Yavuz Eroğlu, assuming the PAGEV Chairmanship for the third time, delivered a message of unity at the General Assembly. Eroğlu stated, "As PAGEV, our priority is to eliminate the problems that stand in our way while carrying out activities that will advance our sector. During my term as Chairman, myself and our Board of Directors have acted with this awareness. In the new term, our primary responsibility will be to struggle for the solution of the problems our sector faces. We are ready to act together with other NGOs and our sector stakeholders in all efforts to advance our sector and to form a united front. PAGEV's door is open to everyone who is devoted to the plastics sector."
In 2020, as PAGEV, we will call for more recycling and accelerate the pace of our work to develop our country through the circular economy. We will create genuine awareness among the public about the contribution of plastics to our lives. The campaign "Plastics have no place in nature, but have a big place in our lives," which was broadcast on television, radio and digital platforms on 3 January 2019 and reached the entire country, will be continued in 2020, and we aim to increase the number of people we reach," he said.
Eroğlu thanked all members re-elected to office at the General Assembly and sector representatives, expressing his wish that unity and togetherness at PAGEV would continue to grow.
