Ordino Not Yet Removed

Murat Akyüz, Chairman of İKMİB and Member of the TİM Board of Directors, issued a written statement regarding ordino fees, which is one of the most significant problems faced by exporters. In his statement, Akyüz noted the following: "As both Chairman of İKMİB and Member of the TİM Board of Directors, I have felt the need to provide information regarding some recent statements made about the ordino matter, which I closely follow in both capacities. Following announcements made by civil society organizations in the sector stating 'Ordino has been removed, good news,' our members have developed a perception that customs authorities will no longer require ordino documents under any circumstances. The ordino, which we also wish to be abolished as soon as possible, has no legal basis and is not legally required. Following the notification made by the Customs Ministry in this direction, statements that the document has been removed have caused misunderstandings among our exporting companies. Our hope is for the ordino document to be abolished as soon as possible, thereby alleviating the burden on our companies. At the Turkey Exporters Assembly – TİM, of which I am also a Board Member, we received a commitment from Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım in recent weeks that the ordino fee issue, one of the most important problems affecting our exports, would be resolved. Both TİM and İKMİB continue our efforts to resolve this matter expeditiously."
