Opteon™ 1100 Wins 2017 Polyurethane Innovation Award

Chemours Wins Innovation Award for Low-GWP Foam Blowing Agent, Supported by the Center for the Polyurethane Industry (CPI)

Titanium technologies, fluorochemical products and chemical solutions leader Chemours Company (Chemours), a global chemistry company at the forefront of titanium technologies, fluorochemical products and chemical solutions, won the Polyurethane Innovation Award at the 2017 Polyurethane Technical Conference for Opteon™ 1100 foam blowing agent. This award underscores the role of innovation in the polyurethane industry and demonstrates Chemours' vision and commitment to bringing Opteon™ 1100 to market today. In response to growing demand for high-performance products with reduced environmental impact, Chemours commercialized Opteon™ 1100, a new blowing agent based on hydrofluoroolefin chemistry. Opteon™ 1100 offers an ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) of 400 times lower compared to current HFCs, while also delivering 10% better initial and aged K-Factors. It contains excellent physical properties and performance characteristics offering a sustainable solution to meet evolving regulatory requirements, replacing HCFCs, HFCs and hydrocarbons with advanced performance.
