First-ever Turkish medal in archery came at Paris 2024!

In competitions held at Les Invalides in Paris, France, the national team consisting of Mete Gazoz, Muhammed Abdullah Yıldırmış and Ulaş Berkim Tümer faced China, represented by Wenchao Kao, Zhongyuan Li and Yan Wang.

The national team won the first set 55-54 and lost the second set 57-56. The Men's Recurve Bow National Team gained superiority over China 55-54 in the third set and 56-54 in the fourth set, bringing the score to 6-2 and claiming the bronze medal. The third-place finish by the Men's Recurve Bow National Team is recorded as Turkey's first team medal in 100 years of Olympic history.

Göktuğ Ergin, Technical Director of the Archery National Teams, emphasized the outstanding performance of the athletes, stating: "There is 3 years of tremendous effort behind this success. Especially after Mete Gazoz's gold medal, winning a medal at the Olympics became normal for all of us. We have transformed into a structure where we believe that with proper preparation, we will increase the number of medals. We have made very good use of the past 3 years. The young athletes have also made great effort over these 3 years."
