Novo Nordisk Appoints New Executive
Jens Pii Olesen, who has 22 years of experience in Novo Nordisk's international operations, has been appointed as Vice President and General Manager responsible for Novo Nordisk Turkey operations. Dr. Burak Cem, who has held this position since 2016, has been appointed to a global position in Warsaw as Corporate Vice President responsible for the South and East Europe region.
Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare company managed by the world's largest foundation, has appointed Jens Pii Olesen as Turkey Vice President and General Manager following organizational changes in the management of the organization to which Turkey belongs. Over the past 22 years, Jens Pii Olesen has led commercial operations in numerous different countries in Novo Nordisk's therapeutic areas of diabetes, obesity and rare diseases, and is known for implementing sustainable and impactful projects.
Jens Pii Olesen Made Statement
Jens Pii Olesen, who will begin his position in Turkey as of 1 June 2022, made the following statement on the matter: "Turkey is one of the strategically important countries in Novo Nordisk's global operations due to its activities in diabetes, obesity and rare diseases and its efforts to become a regional hub.
This strategic position is the result of effective work conducted to date and the success of significant investments. I thank Dr. Burak Cem for his contributions in this regard. I am very excited to continue being a pioneer of change in the therapeutic areas we serve with our successful team in Turkey and to undertake work that will further advance our strategic importance."
Burak Cem Appointed to Global Position
Dr. Burak Cem, who has held the position of Novo Nordisk Turkey Vice President and General Manager since January 2016, has been appointed to the position of Corporate Vice President of the South and East Europe region due to his successful work.
In his statement, Burak Cem said: "Every day I worked at Novo Nordisk Turkey, I worked with the motivation and enthusiasm that our mission to improve human lives provided. I sincerely believe the team here will continue with the same enthusiasm in successful work. I wish Jens Pii Olesen success in his new position."
