NESCAFÉ Gold Reaches 100 Young Artists with 'Bu Fincan Sanat Yolunda' Project

With İstanbul Modern's cooperation and Migros's contributions, workshop and training programs for young artists were held in four cities.

Through collaboration with Istanbul Modern and with support from Migros, workshops and training programs for young artists were held in four cities.

NESCAFÉ Gold successfully completed the "This Cup on Art's Path" project, brought to life in collaboration with Istanbul Modern and with support from Migros. Young fine arts graduates who participated in workshops and online training held in Nevşehir, Mardin, Trabzon and Van earned Istanbul Modern-approved certificates.

Building on last year's project that connected young artists' digital creations with wider audiences, NESCAFÉ Gold this year expanded its reach across Turkey's regions, supporting fine arts graduates in their artistic production processes.

An artistic journey from Nevşehir to Van
Participants worked under Istanbul Modern's guidance with expert artists across different disciplines:

  • Nevşehir: In the "Human Impact" workshop led by Prof. Dr. Necla Rüzgâr, the effects of the anthropocene age on humans and nature were addressed.
  • Mardin: In the "Authentic Subject" workshop by Sabire Susuz, body, identity and social norms were discussed.
  • Trabzon: In the "Sound and Culture" workshop led by Prof. Dr. Alper Maral, environmental sounds and soundscapes were examined.
  • Van: Under the leadership of Dr. Ali Asgar Çakmakcı, the "Discovering Nature, Discovering Yourself" workshop provided experiences in connecting with nature and artistic expression processes.

In addition to the workshops, art history classes were held with Dr. Seda Yavuz, Dr. Ebru Nalan Sülün and Dr. Ebru Yetişkin; theoretical art studies were also included in the program with Dr. Fırat Arapoğlu.

"We opened deeper fields for artists"
Hüseyin Necdet Kalkan, General Manager of Nestlé Turkey Beverages Business Unit, commented on the project as follows:

"Last year, our 'This Cup Supports Art' project focused on digital production. This year, with 'This Cup on Art's Path,' we opened deeper fields for young artists to explore. We are pleased to accompany the creative journeys of the young people who came together in four cities."

"We provided a learning environment centered on sharing"
Neslihan Varol, Director of Education and Social Projects at Istanbul Modern, noted:

"We successfully completed the program's first year. We provided fine arts graduates from different cities with a learning environment centered on sharing. We were very satisfied with participants developing their creative perspectives and producing new projects. Additionally, the program made an important contribution to our equality of opportunity goal by increasing access to art education outside Istanbul."

"We contributed to young people's dreams"
Caner Yaman, FMCG Food Marketing Director at Migros, explained their support as follows:

"With the project we launched in collaboration with NESCAFÉ Gold and Istanbul Modern to turn young artists' dreams into reality, 100 young people from 4 cities received training from expert instructors in their fields. We greatly value the support of our Migros customers through their NESCAFÉ Gold purchases in this process. We thank all our stakeholders and wish our young artists a future filled with art."
