National Wrestler Selvi İlyasoğlu Becomes World Champion in Cadet Girls Category

Selvi İlyasoğlu, who won a gold medal at the World Junior Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, Hungary's capital, was welcomed with flowers and Turkish flags at Dalaman Airport.

Selvi İlyasoğlu, representing Turkey in the girls' 57 kg category, became world champion by defeating Sweden's Tindra Olivia Dalmyr 4-0 in the final. According to a statement from the Turkish Wrestling Federation, Selvi İlyasoğlu made history as the first Turkish female athlete to win a junior world championship in wrestling. The national wrestler defeated USA's Savannah Marina Cosme in her first match at the Budapest championship, Mongolia's Khaliun Byambasuren in the quarterfinals, and Russia's Angelina Pervukhina in the semifinals.   Source
