Merck Announces Strong Growth Plan with Strategic Investments

Merck aims to strengthen its position in future growth areas such as artificial intelligence, personalized medicine and semiconductor technologies, with investments exceeding EUR 11.5 billion since 2021.
Since 2021, Merck has invested over EUR 11.5 billion to strengthen its position in future growth areas such as artificial intelligence, personalized medicine and semiconductor technologies.
Leading science and technology company Merck announced at its 2025 Investor Day event held in Darmstadt, Germany, that it aims for growth through its high-technology focused portfolio and strategic investments. According to the company's third-quarter 2025 results, it achieved net sales of approximately EUR 5.3 billion, up 5.2 percent.
At the center of the growth plan are Process Solutions, Rare Diseases and Semiconductor Solutions, which will account for 80 percent of the company's future growth. Additionally, while increasing biological manufacturing capacity, it is accelerating efforts in artificial intelligence, semiconductor technologies and personalized treatments. With investments exceeding EUR 11.5 billion since 2021, Merck has strengthened its position in future growth areas and maintains a strong presence in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific through balanced sales distribution.
Merck CEO Belén Garijo made the following statement on the subject:

Merck CFO Helene von Roeder drew attention to capital management with the following assessment: "We are directing our capital strategically; while strengthening our leading position in technologies with high growth potential, we maintain our financial discipline."
