Laber Organik Invests TRY 2 Million in R&D for Cosmetics
Underscoring the growing importance of innovation work in the dynamic and competitive cosmetics sector, Laber Organik General Manager Levent Kahrıman stated that the brand has made R&D investments exceeding TRY 2 million.
Investments will contribute to the sector
Pointing out that the cosmetics industry holds significant importance globally, Laber Organik General Manager Levent Kahrıman said:
"Given the structure of the sector, as a brand we approach R&D work with utmost importance. With our organically certified products developed with an innovative perspective, operating in this sector requires intensive formulation and R&D processes for products of this quality.
In addition to these efforts, with our work on waste management and sustainable energy sources, we have made R&D investments exceeding TRY 2 million over the year.
Our target for 2022 is to conduct R&D work equivalent to 10 percent of annual revenue. We anticipate that this high target figure we have set will provide significant long-term benefits to our brand," he said.
R&D investments in cosmetics should be prioritized
Noting that consumer expectations in the cosmetics sector have many different dimensions, Kahrıman stated: "Cosmetic products are expected to meet care and beauty expectations and to be reliable. This expectation naturally entails costs in terms of investment.
Moreover, cosmetic products today are not developed with classical formulations as in the past. Large cosmetic companies, which now comprise a large share of the cosmetics market, must allocate serious budgets to research and development processes to obtain innovative cosmetic products and formulations.
This demonstrates that all companies in the sector need to place great importance on R&D investments in order to create differentiation," he said.
