Korhan Kurdoğlu attends CDF, holds high-level talks

TFI TAB Gıda Yatırımları Founding Partner & CEO Korhan Kurdoğlu attended the 2024 China Development Forum (CDF) held in China on 24-25 March 2024 and participated in high-level meetings. Kurdoğlu, the first businessman from Turkey to attend the China Development Forum to date, exchanged views on the Chinese market with Premier Li Qiang of the People's Republic of China while meeting with leading business figures such as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Siemens CEO Roland Busch. Korhan Kurdoğlu, the first Turkish businessman to attend the China Development Forum, an international event held annually with high-level participation under the auspices of the China Development Research Foundation, shared his confidence in the Chinese economy and market during his meeting with Premier Li Qiang of the People's Republic of China and noted that the company's investments in China will increase. Within the scope of his roles as Chairman of DEIK Turkey-China Business Council and Chairman of TÜSİAD China Network, Korhan Kurdoğlu also provided information about the work being carried out for balanced growth of trade between the two countries.

Largest Turkish Investment

Following the China Development Forum, which aims to strengthen communication between China and the world at the highest level, Kurdoğlu met with Vice President Han Zheng of the People's Republic of China. He recalled that 16 years ago, when Han Zheng was Mayor of Shanghai, he introduced Shanghai in Istanbul and noted that as TFI TAB Gıda Yatırımları, they made the investment decision to China 12 years ago and implemented the Republic of Turkey's largest investment in China. Kurdoğlu invited the Vice President of the People's Republic of China to the Turkey-China Business Conference (TCBC), which is held annually in partnership with DEIK, TÜSİAD and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and will hold its third edition this year, while underlining the role of business organizations in strengthening relations between Turkey and China. Stressing that China is a very important market, Vice President Han Zheng of the People's Republic of China invited more investors from Turkey and Turkish products to China. CCPIT President Ren Hongbin and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Deng Li of the People's Republic of China, who accompanied the meeting, conveyed the message that their support for Turkish companies will continue. The Forum, attended by leaders of the capital and finance world, included more than 400 figures such as Amin H. Nasser (President and CEO, Aramco), Tim Cook (CEO, Apple Inc.), Wael Sawan (CEO, Shell plc), Patrick Pouyanné (Chairman and CEO, Total Energies), Ola Källenius (Chairman, Mercedes-Benz), Noel Quinn (Group Chief Executive, HSBC Holdings plc), Albert Bourla (Chairman and CEO, Pfizer), Mark Schneider (CEO, Nestlé S.A.), Roland Busch (Chairman, President and CEO, Siemens AG), Ajay Banga (President, World Bank Group), Kristalina Georgieva (Managing Director, International Monetary Fund), Masatsugu Asakawa (President, Asian Development Bank), JIN Liqun (President and Chairman, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank). Before the Forum, where the latest economic developments and policies in China were discussed, Kurdoğlu was in Shanghai and met with Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng.
