Eti Alüminyum Announces USD 400 Million Investment

Eti Alüminyum, the only integrated aluminum production facility in Türkiye capable of producing from ore to finished product, will prevent USD 600 million worth of imports with the rolling mill it will bring online this year. Thanks to the rolling mill, which will be realized together with a new foundry in Konya Seydişehir through an investment of USD 400 million, the company will gain more qualified and strategic production capability in a wide range of applications extending from the defense industry to high-precision industrial uses.
Eti Aluminium, Turkey's sole integrated aluminium producer from ore to finished product, will curb USD 600 million in imports this year with a rolling mill coming online. The rolling mill, which will be realized with a USD 400 million investment alongside a new casting facility in Konya Seydişehir, will give the company higher-quality and strategic production capabilities across a broad range of applications from defence industry to high-precision industrial uses.
Eti Aluminium, Turkey's only primary aluminium producer, will gain the capacity to produce high-quality products needed by the country, particularly for the defence industry, with its new rolling mill investment. With a rolling mill in Konya Seydişehir built with a USD 400 million investment to produce hot and cold rolled products, and a new casting facility to feed this mill, the company will head off USD 600 million in annual imports of flat aluminium products. The rolling mill is targeted to begin production in the first quarter of 2027.
Speaking at a traditional iftar dinner, Eti Aluminium General Manager Mehmet Arkan said, "Aluminium is no longer merely an industrial input; it is a strategic building block across many fields—from defence to energy, advanced technology to green transition. In 2025, our focus was to strengthen production and technology infrastructure that will position Eti Aluminium at the centre of this transformation. Through our rolling mill investment, our R&D projects and green energy initiatives, we believe the steps we take today will create higher added value, stronger competitiveness and a more sustainable industrial structure in the years ahead. With this vision, we aim to make Eti Aluminium a production force capable of meeting not only today's needs but also those of the future."

PRODUCTION CAPACITY TO REACH 250,000 TONNES
Noting that Eti Aluminium provides employment to 1,700 people, Arkan said the company continues its work with the knowledge accumulated over its 53-year history. Recalling that Eti Aluminium has grown under the Cengiz Holding umbrella since 2005, Arkan stated, "Over the past 21 years, we have made very important investments in Konya. Our ongoing investments, including the casting facility and rolling mill, total around USD 400 million. We are fortunate that this year we will complete construction and next year we will receive the first products from our rolling mill, allowing us to supply Turkey's defence industry with higher value-added products. We will make a very important contribution to our country's production capacity with domestic resources. Our rolling mill will initially have a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes. We can increase this to 250,000 tonnes. In this way, we will reduce Turkey's import dependency in flat aluminium products and head off approximately USD 600 million in annual imports. Through this, we will support economic activity in Seydişehir with long-term employment."
FINE HYDRATE INVESTMENT AIMED AT EXPORTS
Providing information about other ongoing investments at Eti Aluminium, Arkan continued: "At the rolling mill, we will be able to produce both hot and cold rolled products. At the same time, a casting facility investment to feed the rolling mill is ongoing. We began commercial sales with our specialty alumina production announced last year. On the other hand, we aim to increase our capacity in fine hydrate production, which is an important input for cable production. With Turkey's annual requirement for fine hydrate at 25,000 tonnes, we will increase capacity from 10,000 tonnes to 35,000 tonnes and begin exports."
PATENT AWARDED FOR WORLD-LEADING MODEL
Referring to the company's continued investment in R&D as one of Turkey's leading industrial enterprises, Arkan said, "As you will recall, we are the company that conducted the world's first studies on lithium carbonate production from bauxite ore. This success stems from the strategy of all companies under the Cengiz Holding umbrella to view post-production residual materials not as waste but as by-products, and their belief in the circular economy. As you have been closely following, we have obtained the patent for our lithium carbonate production activities. I sincerely congratulate all our colleagues for this achievement."
ETİ ALUMINIUM
Founded in 1967 and beginning production in 1973, Eti Aluminium has been operating under the Cengiz Holding umbrella, one of the industry's leading groups, since 2005. After being taken from the Privatization Administration, renovation, capacity increases and technology investments have accelerated, with over USD 700 million invested in the facility to date, excluding rolling mill investments. Thanks to all these investments, today Eti Aluminium, which has Turkey's only integrated facility capable of producing from ore to finished product, produces 82,000 tonnes of aluminium annually. The products manufactured are used in a very wide range of applications, from window profiles to aircraft, from tourism to the defence industry.
